Post by: Painlayer69 on July 16, 2011, 01:02:00 PM
So i have recently been put on tegretol and haldol both that work as anti depressant and as an anti pshycotic and my psyc doc said to stop taking my Jack3d and the fat burner that i was stacking with it ( Its the one made by the same company Oxy something ) What could be safe to take on top of my medications that would still allow for some good thermogenic action?

Thx guys and gals

All thermogenics are noradrenergic to some degree, and you shouldn't take either antidepressants or anticonvulsants with thermogenics. You shouldn't take drugs that stimulate the sympathetic nervous system with thermogenics due to the synergistic effect. The only safe thermogenic for you is narangin. But I don't know how effective it is.

Find out how many calories you need to maintain your current bodyweight, then subtract 500 calories from that and spread it over 6 meals. For every meal get a lean protein with very low glycemic carbs and vegetables. The protein is important because it furthers decreases the glycemic load of the carbs, and spares muscle which keeps your metabolism high. The vegetables are important for G.I health, vitamin/minerals and antioxidants and keeps you full. Do one hour of low-intensity aerobics first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, or if you feel light-headed, do it in the afternoon. It is very important to do your weight training, as the more muscle you have the more calories you'll burn while resting.

Finding out how many calories you need to maintain your current bodyweight can be done in two manners. You can do it professionally with a calorimeter, which is impractical, or write down everything you eat for three days, add up the calories by checking on calorie tabs, which are easily available, then divide by three. This will give you an idea of your daily calorie intake. Proceed as elucidated above.

There is no evidence that the indols and carbinols in broccoli have any significant anti-etrogen effect on male Humans, and even if it did, you would need to eat pounds of broccoli a day to get a useful dosage. Also, broccoli contains fiber, and even though fiber is good for your G.I health, it supresses testosterone levels. So any anti-estrogen effect from eating broccoli would be mitigated by it's testosterone-suppressing effect like any other fibrous food.

To lose bodyfat, as long as you are using more calories than you ingest, you will lose bodyfat. You will also lose muscle, but if you don't care about that, just eating less calories than you consume will cause a reduction in your bodyfat levels. Being catabolic causes you to lose both bodyfat and muscle. To lose bodyfat whilst preserving muscle, follow my advice given above.
