Watched a 100kg guy deadlift 300kg today in just a belt, now some people have told me thats not bad but nothing special, so triple bodyweight lift nothing special?!? what kind of superhero gym do some train in?
-
it's a very good deadlift lol but its not close to the record
maybe thats what they mean
the record at 93kg in the US is 322

For the above average dude training in the gym its a very strong pull. Even for a competitor its strong, its just not at the elite level.
Don't let getbiggers fool you, there aren't 50 guys in their gym warming up with that weight. ;)
I'd like to set up a max deadlift comp for the powerlifting board....hmm, may be a good idea. :)

Depends on weight, 825 at 275 is certainly elite. lol
-
1200 lbs dl @ 400 lbs bw is pretty elite imo ::)

Jeez so 3 X is "Nothing special" because it's not the world record of 3.4 X ?! ::)

For a gym lift(especially if pulled conventionally), it's spectacular and would even probably take some of the smaller u.S. meets. For a really big meet, he'd need to add quite a bit to it, Ed Coan's record is 901lbs at #220. As mentioned after say the #220 class, bodyweight takes a toll, very rare to see a 3x Bodyweight deadlift from the bigger guys.
-
3x bodyweight deadlift is exceptionally good. coan's deadlift referenced above stood as or still stands as an all time record in that weight class for the last what, 20years?
-
Its an excellent pull. sure Ed C pulled more, but shit, he Ed fucken Coan.

Once you get to about 100kg lb for lb is less improtant and indicative of agood lifting so that is why they use Wilks in PL comps!
