but he is a perfect spotter the only bad thing is he didn't put collars of the bar
but everytging else he did was picture perfect and that's how i spot
you load the bar up ask me for a spot and think im going to pull the bar off you from rep one and keep it going for 10 reps wrong
that bar will spend a couple of seconds on your chest the you will realize
if you cant get one rep it means you shouldn't have that amount of weight on the bar

we have huge old guys in your gym that should know better yet load the car and do the same thing
I love when i wok in with them and they try to spot me i say no no no pass it to me and then i will do the rest no hands on my bar

With a good bar you don't need collars. Come on Americans. You are all about training and fitness. Start demanding quality equipment (other than machines).

the ONLY time i use collars are when i use the ez-curl bar for skull crushers other then that i never use them, sometimes i go with out them if i cant find a pair in the gym but i have to pay extra attention to movement on the plate

I need collars when I squat because the bar bends and bounces so much that the plates slide off otherwise ;)

a friend of mine used to do a similar joke to newcomers of the gym (who of course wanted to look badass).
he offered to spot a heavy bench press, so the guy was all fired up and started repping; after some shitty reps the guy usually looked desperately for help and my friend shouted "one more guy!! c'mon you have it in you!! push!!".
at this point the poor fucker feeling he was at the centre of attention (and being an attention whore) usually did another one and got stuck lolz
then big old Mario usually just went away

maby he thought that benching 132lbs for reps means that he is able to add the same amount of weight pushed on every rep or something.... ???
with this logic, pushing the bar alone for 201 reps the amount of pounds I could max out would be... over ninE THOUUUSAAAAAND!!!!!!!
