They played one of the old Lite beer commercials on the radio today..... LOVED those when I was a kid.  PIP

I haven't heard any updates, but last I read, Smith's death appeared to have been of natural causes.

While it always sad to see someone pass away (even if they lived a pretty full life), it is at least refreshing to see an athlete die naturally rather than from being a knucklehead.

He was a true warrior on the field and one of the first from the south to play in the Mid-West and the M$U fans chanted, "Kill Bubba, Kill".  8)

Smith's rookie year was 1967...the year the Colts went 11-1-2 and did not make the playoffs (they played in the same division as the Rams for some reason and the Rams were 12-1-1...no wild card in those days).  The Rams were upset in the divisional round by the Packers, who went on to win the Ice Bowl, then Super Bowl II.
