Just because he kicked some ass!   They do test the fighters.  He was just better, faster and trained harder.






Belfort showed off the punching power that he became known for early in his MMA career, knocking out Yoshihiro Akiyama in just 1:52 in the co-main event at UFC 133.

Belfort knocked him to the ground with a right, then followed up with a flurry of body and face punches until Akiyama fell to the ground. Belfort then finished with two more strikes until Akiyama went limp and the bout was stopped.

This was Belfort's first fight since losing in a title bout to Anderson Silva at UFC 126. In that bout, Belfort was knocked out with a front kick, but he didn't show any signs of wear tonight.

"I feel great. I feel like if he hadn't landed that kick, that's what would have happened to him," Belfort said of Silva in the cage after the fight.

He started with the UFC back in 1997, and was nicknamed the Phenom because of how he blew through so many top fighters. After a stint in PRIDE and other promotions, he returned to the UFC to knock out Rich Franklin, but then hit some injuries. After the loss to Silva, fight fans were left to wonder if he could return to his original form.

With this win, he leaves little doubt that he can, as he looked like the man who would blow through opponents like Wanderlei Silva and Randy Couture.

As for Akiyama, this is his third loss in a row in the UFC. His one win was a close split decision over Alan Belcher at UFC 100. After a fantastic career with K-1, he never quite reached his potential in the Octagon.

he trained harder i'm sure, was faster and stronger, why?  hormones!!

he looked WEAK against silva, today was a night and day change.  congrats to him on the win

He def looked like he was on hormones. How do these guys beat the tests though? Are they just loading up on gh and peptides? A lot of the top guys look juiced.

Rumor is Akiyama told Okami that he pretty much didnt get to train at all for this fight because of the situation in Japan (he said this Before the fight), then again, Sonnen is the source  ;D

Drug test means shit of course,...... but still don't think he juicing hard, if at all, the guy was 220 at 19 pretty lean too, and now 185, you do the math

Belfort is taking hgh just like Lashley...who also claims he is natural

This girl that was fuck buddies with Lashley told me that Lashley injected HGH which cant be found in tests...

No I am saying he is 35 lb lighter now with the same bodyfat then when he was barely coming out of his teens, so obviously he is doing less

Oh, not 1 person in the world will agree with you that he looks better now then when he made his ufc debut, you obviously never saw him then, he was jacked back then.

i dont follow him, so i never knew that.. just commenting on the silly drug testing comment, we should all know better on here!

Steroids can be easely timed for a test if you know when u will have it. When they start with random drug testing in UFC then I will believe it.

Here's a pick of me and vitor last year. I was weighing around 190. These guys look a lot bigger on tv. First time I've ever been to any kind of live event. It was a lot of fun. The day before the fight we walked around one of the expos. Got to take pics with some of the fighters I grew up watching.

Without the pump of warming up normal folks look exactly like this. Low bodyfat + some blood flowing and the visual impact changes a lot. Bodybuilders of today have warped the look and size of muscle beyond repair.

Look at Vitor back when he fought at Cage Rage in the UK.  He was a SOFT 185 and was hurting financially.  Suddenly he get big contracts from Affliction and Zuffa and he's solid again.

He looked smaller in Affliction than he does now in the UFC.
