Agree 100 %. When I was a child, the Road Warriors were GODS in my eyes. Can't remember their little sayin' ( they would yell somethin' before they started wrestlin' ), but it was pretty badass !!

The"ll never be another tag team like them ever again, those dudes almost came out of the television into your living room and they always put on a hell of a show. Larger than life figures, always wanted to be like them when I was a lad.
They represented badass in every single way bro, then almost as if they passed it on to Scott Steiner when he turned heel.

A great tag team? Or just lucky to be close buddies with Hulk Hogan?
-
HARDY BOYS!
-
I'd drop the British Bulldogs and put in the Rock N Roll express... But aside from that, I'm on board.

Your the man ! LOL ! " WHAT A RUSHHHHHHH " is what I was thinkin' of. I use to yell that ALL the time when I was younger. Even when I got older I would yell it durin' my heavy deadlift sessions. Lol.

Road Warriors were my influence too. Who wasn't influenced by them back in the day?

X2 I never understood the hype about those guys.
The Road Warriors are far and away number one for obvious reasons but I would have the Fabulous Freebirds as a solid number 2 because Michael PS Hayes was one of the charasmatic heels ever. Great on the mic, flashy, flamboyant, arrogant and a GREAT front man for a tag team that included Terry Gordy also who is one of THE most underrated wrestlers of all time. I never really gave a shit about Buddy Roberts but when those guys came in waving those Confederate Flags you could literally see the HATE in the audiences eyes. They almost made it seem like they would be lucky to get out alive, that's how much the crowd hated them.
Name another tag team who could draw anything near that kind of heat.

Does anybody remember the Bushwackers???

Fucking hate that song.
My first roommate in college played that goddam song non-stop for months.
I wanted to choke him until his eyeballs popped out of their sockets.

When I was 5 I seen Corky rocking on stage in his leather jacket, I thought he was the coolest guy ever.

Awesome post!
The Freebirds get lost in the doldrums of wrestling history because they weren't as popular as other teams who they influenced (like the 4 Horsemen and NWO). But ask ANY wrestler or historian and they will tell you the truth. The Freebirds were kings!!
Hayes was so good and innovative to enhance the Freebirds into the imaginations of fans and the crowd went wild with hate from it. Terry Gordy was an incredible worker, especially for his size, he was tremendously underrated. And no love for Buddy Roberts? He was the grinder and comedy of the team. He didn't have the flash, charisma and skills of Hayes and Gordy but man, he could work a crowd. Check out the hair matches he had against Iceman Parsons in World Class, that was the hottest thing going at the time! Buddy was an incredible worker that also put the fans in a tizzy. They hated him with a passion and wanted him to get the shit kicked out of him and that takes a lot of work to have that much heat on you. No way, Buddy was awesome and also underrated.

As the Sheepherders they were a bloodthirsty riot.
When they came to the WWF they became lovable children pets.
A fun/popular tag team but in no way one of the greatest ever.

This is not a criticism, but the fact that you refer to the Road Warriors as "LOD" tells me you have a very limited perspective of the the R/R's were about in the 1980's.
You have to go back to 1982 to Georgia Championship, then AWA, then NWA/JCP, then WCW, and Japan to understand what the R/R's were about.
They went to the WWF AFTER all of that and used their Paul Ellering group name of LOD.....
I liked Demolition, but they were cheap ripoff of LOD (among many others).
Name the number of tag teams with NWA, AWA and WWF world titles............

He doesn't know what he is talking about.
I gave him a outside shot of credibility with Hart Foundation at one thinking he was coming from some sort of technical wrestling standpoint but then passed right over the rest of his post when I seen Demolition at 2.
