Pre Steriod era you almost never hear of them, you might hear of a torn bicep once in a blue moon, but not with the frequency you do now.

I think its quite rare.

One of the short term effects of steroids is increased strength. However this strength is not natural.

There is a reason why you cannot stress your muscles to 99%, and I think its quite simply the body protecting itself from injury.

When you take steroids you can push your muscles to 90+ % of their strength potential, this is where the dangers comes from, this is not supposed to happen.

I did in my younger days...when natural test levels were much higher than now. And those tears from all those years ago now haunt me constantly 20 yrs later. A little advice to those younger than myself - train sensibly and carefully coz down the line you will pay for it if you don't.

Most weight trainers who tear shit are either using or are dieting harshly for a bodybuilding competition. Almost all occur in the former category.

I have never heard on natural tearing jack shit strength training.
Think the  the connective tissue can not keep pace with the strength gains in the juicer.

Hmmm... interesting...

I've neither ever heard about it or seen for that matter. Those tearing shit up are always the big guys who obviously are on supps.

Quite brutal to think that on supps you get so strong that your body can't keep up with that strength  :o 8)

I've had strains and partial tears. Dont think it's too uncommon. Especially when lifting heavy powerlifting fasion. Stay with 8+ rep range you should be safe i think
