Adam could you please tell us how gold has no real value, while paper currencies do and why people who buy gold are idiots. I need a good laugh all the way to the bank. Maybe you can gather all the central bankers around the world together and educate them with your superior knowledge on the matter so they dont waste their time purchasing any more of it.
Oh and could you give us the instructions as to how we can make our own gold again. Thanks.

I like gold. I need to get a metal detector and see what I can find on our grounds. You know they buried everything when that C o C K Sucker General Sherman came through here trying to burn everything down.
Anyways, so I take it Ron will be powerless and Congress will not go along? Does he have any allies in Congress?

One of his most important points is bringing the troops home and he has full legal authority to do so as president since he is commander in chief. No need of Congress.
BTW. do you get off on trolling?

Wont the big metal plate in your head render the detector useless?

wait, before you told everyone that you make your own gold... Why would you need to find gold if you make gold? ::)

Why would I need to make it if I can find it? Jezebelle is a member of a Treasure Hunting forum. She collects arrowheads. I don`t have the patience for it. Those people on there actually still pan for gold, its pathetic.

Maybe you can convince the central banks to stockpile arrowheads, or make them the new currency! Man, you would do really well with that thanks to Jezebelles hobby.

Logistically impossible. You can`t move that amount of men and armor in such a short amount of time even if you wanted to. Where is HH6, he will explain this to you.

In as short amount of time as possible, however long it takes.

What a shock, all the hard-core Paul fans can't answer the fucking question. ::)
It's a legit question. RP has some great ideas but a horrific track record with most of his shit never even leaving a sub-committee/committee.
Having good ideas doesn't mean jackshit if you can't get them passed.
-
I agree.

who cares. It means stupid unconstitutional shit isn't going to get signed into law or extended either. That alone is worth RP in office.

This is the core of the problem with democracies and why every single one of them always fail and go bankrupt eventually.

Gridlock? haha...kinda sounding like 33.
I suppose that assumes that the congress won't override him - he's not exactly popular with either party, IMO.

Uh, the United States is not a democracy.

If Ron Paul vetoes everything that comes across his desk, how will anything change? ???

They can't keep spending money we don't have.

Our "republic" is governed by a representive democracy so I'm not sure what your point is.
-

If we all vote for Bernie Sanders or Nader, they'll get congress to do whatever they want.
What a fucking stupid point of a thread.

Bernie Sanders has more clout and is more respected than Ron Paul amongst his colleagues. Again, Who are Ron Pauls allies? ???

Years at least.
How long did it take us to leave Vietnam?
-
If Ron Paul vetoes everything that comes across his desk, how will anything change? ???
That in itself would be the change we're looking for and need.
-
How long did it take us to leave Vietnam?
About 2-3 years.

About 2-3 years.
I didn't realize that, damn.
-

If all we are going to get is Congressional Gridlock and Republican Policies, then this is just more of the same. Ron Paul may even prove to be worse, if he really plans to vote "No" as much as he proclaims he will.
That type of governing is disastrous and I could envision the United States in even worse shape as result. Although I cringe at "compromise" at times, it does have its place and is the bedrock of our governance.
Congress certainly would have its hands full overriding Ron Paul`s vetoes if he really plans to follow through with voting "No" on everything. Imagine how clusterfucked THAT would be.
-

He may not be popular with them but they're even more unpopular with the people. Paul's approval rating could be 20 percent and he'd be more popular than congress lol... They can overide him but when was that last time that happened and if they did, would they be willing to team up like that on every bill, seriously doubt it?
Another question, when was the last time a party opposed their own man in the whitehouse? They wouldn't do that even if they couldn't stand Ron Paul. It would just cause a shift in their directions which is a good thing. Paul also wouldn't be able to just up and do everything he wanted overnight and that's probably a good thing too.
-

Well the last time that happened a president ended up with his brains all over the back of his car in Texas.

Dennis Kucinich, a Democrat, is the U.S. Representative for Ohio's 10th congressional district.
Dennis Kucinich on Ron Paul

All one has to do is see how many people RP got together to agree on the Audit the Fed bill. When something makes sense, it's easy to get people to jump on board.

I don't know, but I think you make a good point. If he has the Whitehouse, he's got a greater voice and the Congress will be under greater pressure to follow his lead. Wonder if that would make things even more partisan (if that's even possible).
Emmortal - no sorry, fail. Try again.
Bindare - You've done nothing but point to a failed example and something of what I'm talking about. First, he doesn't have a huge following on the audit bill. Second, what got passed isn't even what he wanted and now he's trying again to get the real meat and bones through.
I'd imagine if you ask anyone with even a basic understanding of the Fed (such as myself), they would agree with RP that it should be audited and transparent. But even with all that, he still has trouble getting that through. Don't get me wrong, RP is not solely to blame for being unable to get it through, but if you look at his overall, he's got huge problems getting legislation passed. But Hugo's gotta good point, as Prez, the entire dynamic will change.

That bill I believe was a huge catalyst that got the dicussion really going, agree or disagree with its content. The current economic climate reality, the open discussion, has forced a bit more transperncy on the Feds part as well as put pressure on more politicinas to address the issue. Things could be a lot different the next go around. Its all been baby steps up a steep hill but progress is being made, more people are jumping on board. There was a time when literally no one even cared about this, so the jump in sponsors the last time around was a big deal and proves he can get people on board. Do you disagree with that?

Do you really think the average American knows anything about this? Most still believe the world is 6000 years old and that Obama might be a Muslim?

what's your point? I mean you're right, but exactly what are you saying here? The ramifications are? and you're happy about it why?

You are right having him (RP) in there fighting for it is much better than the last 2 sell outs.

More and more individuals are becoming aware, i think it would be wrong to say otherwsie. Is there a long way to go for the average idiot out there? yes, but Im more excited about the future then before.

At the end of the day, even though its important, this issue means nothing when it comes to winning the election.
I`ve mentioned Ron Paul to people before, and they look at me with a blank stare in their eyes and say "Who", this despite watching every Republican debate last year etc...
I find it to be a real problem among Republicans especially. I find that more liberals know Ron Paul and can cite many things about him.
If you want Ron Paul to win, better start appealing to the Liberals who have had it with Obama and give practical reasons why they should vote for Paul instead.
Convincing Republicans....You will just waste most of your time.
-
Please - libs like ron paul cause he attacks the gop and thw wars. On almost everything else they hate him.

Liberals/Democrats can support RP for a variety of reasons; antiwar, antibailout, anticorporatism, etc.

that's not entirely true and you know it. I really don't give a rats ass about dems or republicans and the number of people who feel that way is growing each fucking day. Bite that bitter apple of truth.
Your partisan opinion is quickly becoming outdated... enjoy...
