As reported by Oklahoma's newspaper "Tulsa World," U.S. Senator Tom Coburn (R-Okla) held a town hall event where he gave his unfiltered thoughts on how he thinks President Obama views the United States. (story here)
Responding to a man who asked if Obama "wants to destroy America," Coburn said the president is "very bright" and loves his country but has a political philosophy that is "goofy and wrong."
Obama's "intent is not to destroy, his intent is to create dependency because it worked so well for him," he said.
"As an African-American male," Coburn said, Obama received "tremendous advantage from a lot of these programs."
Coburn went on to say that most of the country's problems were created by Congress and that "I don't think presidents matter that much."

True - if he thinks obama loves this country and is not out to destroy it and bring the nation to his knees, he is clueless.

There's no program that could have allowed him to graduate magna cum laude from Harvard or become editor of Harvard Law Review. In fact, it only points out as to how much more work Obama had to do to get where he was. He was born poor, his mother collected food stamps (white mother), and he lived in poverty during his childhood. To go from there to being President of the United States is something that takes a lot more than just a government program.
I'm not sure if his comments could be considered racist...but they certainly were poorly spoken and he should think before he speaks in the future

Obama went to private prep school.

Obama went to private prep school.
You don't have to be rich to go to a private school. In fact, some private schools have public funds
-
He went on to say that it's a good thing that he's not allowed to bring guns to the floor of the Senate.

Probably true - a lot of those far left c^unt bags make for very tempting targets.
-
Most likely racist and definitely stupid.
He could have made the same comment without mentioning Obama's race
Keep in mind he was talking to a local paper and probably let his guard down
In the same interview Coburn also had this gem
He went on to say that government programs such as Medicare are primarily responsible for rapidly rising health-care costs, and that Medicare has made the medical system worse.
"You can't tell me the system is better now than it was before Medicare," he said.
Coburn agreed that some people received poor care - or no care - before Medicare was enacted in the 1960s, but said communities worked together to make sure most people received needed medical attention.
He also conceded that doctors and hospitals often went unpaid for their efforts, or accepted baked goods or chickens in partial payment.

Yeah, Straw - you know more than him despite the fact that he is an MD who practiced medicine.

I don't need to be an MD to understand the stupidity of his quote
he acknowledges that prior to Medicare some people received poor care or no care and doctors often had to work for free or get paid with chickens and baked goods
how is that better than now?
BTW - since he is a doctor I assume he's suggesting that he works for free or will gladly take a chicken or some chocolate chip cookies in lieu of money

that's the part he thinks was better .....you know when some people got poor care or no care and doctors and hospitals treated for free or were paid with chickens.
That's when the Medical System was better
how is working for free or getting paid in chickens baked goods "better"
how is getting no care or poor care "better"
333 - here's a tip just for you - We know you hate your country and the majority of your fellow cititzens but you don't have to defend every idiotic thing that every Republican idiot says
