Mr. Bush spent five years pushing to further regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He was blocked by Democratic Sen. Chris Dodd and Rep. Barney Frank. Arriving in the Senate in 2005, Mr. Obama backed up Mr. Dodd's threat to filibuster Mr. Bush's needed reforms.
Why didn’t the media do their job and really dig into Obama’s resistance to F&F reform BEFORE he became the Drunken Sailor running things from the Oval Office.
Right now many are saying yikes, whoda thought Obama would veer so far Left, that he’d go on a spending spree like billions of drunken sailors in tandem as he gambles on America’s future.
Femisex is NOT surprised. Obama has such thin experience at anything other than campaigning for himself, and like Bush before him was not particularly successful at what he did. Obama was not a successful community organizer, he published no legal masterworks, published nothing at all actually, except….those delightful self-promotional books.
But the media ignored Obama’s faults and sold us on him day after tiresome day, all in abject fear of a female presidency or vice presidency.
Obama was their love child and America bought it. Our lead quote today from the WSJ is selected to highlight one Obama stance that Really Really needed to be investigated during the election. If the press had questioned Obama on this –laid into him and really questioned why he was SO committed to resisting reform I think we all might have significantly benefited. Even today Obama has got off scott free on this wrong-headed stance of his.
What I saw of Obama during the election cycle was vague stands, lots of pretty whip- the proletariat- up –into- a -fever speeches that laid out no details of how he planned to govern other than to say he’d cut taxes on 95% of Americans.
The media bought it hook, line and sinker, w/o questioning how long he could keep these tax breaks going? because...history tells us....
Obama was dedicated to spending and that was clear from almost EVERYTHING in his history.
Obama didn’t make policy, he simply borrowed Hillary’s policy plans (and her centerleft stance) and then ditched them the minute he got the keys to the Big House, the place where he could go to dismantle American until he found it more to his likening… a playing field for the poor, a wasteland for the middle class, and a spanking machine for the semi-wealthy to the wealthy.
But tax breaks only work if we have jobs that give us a tax break. And destroying wealth is no way to keep employment numbers up, you foolish Fella Obama. Spending hundreds of thousands of $ to create a single job? Fine idea, if you are spending like a drunken sailor.
Today O-BAM-MYWeatlh-bama is flying the jet to Ohio to Celebrate a few saved jobs for police officers in that state. Can’t he just make a glad -the–taxpayers-could-help phone call? The cost of jetting A.F. ONE to Ohio for the Hoptedo is more than the salary of one of those cops for the year. GET A Clue, Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I wonder, if we had Really questioned Mr. Obama, REALLY sunk our media teeth into his fight against reform of Fannie and Freddie, wouldn’t that have been an honest start in assessing this Man Who Sees Himself as King? Because there is a big story behind his resistance to that reform. But sadly NO ONE covered it for the masses. And Pst, Americans don’t trust something if JUST Fox covers it. Just as they don't trust Paul Krugman to pay their retirement funds back, once he has cheered Obama on like an enabler of the spend-addicted.
Now here's a test on how well the media covered what we might expect from Obama:
Just ask anyone, any average guy on the street, if they know that Obama pledged to filibuster Fannie and Freddie reforms as a senator, and I can BET you not one will say they were aware of that.
Then ask them about Hillary’s sniper fire lie and they will nod yes. But in that nod there is, now, a hint of exactly how they got played on that front.
(P.S. a very influential lobbyist for healthcare told me FLAT OUT that Obama made no such statement, or threat. When I showed him the truth, he had that same look, that look that you see in those who voted for Bush and now feel the fool for such folly.)
