Last week around Thursday I started getting an itchy throat well by sat I'm on the couch sweating my balls of with a fever and the chills. My throat is so soar it is absolutely horrible trying to get any food down my throat. How can I make this go quicker. I'm loosing a ton of weight. I feel like I'm dieing. This is absolutely the worst I have felt in the last few years. :-[
I went to the doctor and they gave me and antibiotic they said I might have an infection. I think I problalby have a bad virus and it will have to run its course. This sucks!

Where do they thing the infection is?
Have you gone to the dentist lately?
-
They tested me for strep and mono. Both came back negative. They said my soar throat could still be caused by bacteria so they gave me antibiotic. I only get sick once or twice a year when I do It's always horrible! It's so hard and painful for me to swallow! I think I burn my esphogaus with hot soup and I must have a blister or something. God I just feel like I'm falling apart.

Do you think that is what happened this time? That you burned your esphogus and you may have a wound that became infected?
Did you mention that to them? Do they say where they think your infection may be?
What is your temperature? Have you thrown up and/or are you nauseous?
Are you dizzy or light-headed? Any areas of mottled skin?
Did they take your blood pressure? If so, was it normal?

No I didn't notice the pain in my esphogaus until I poured hot soup down my throat. The infection is in my throat. It's nasty looking in the back of my throat. Everything looks pussy. I feel very lightheaded and tired. I have been on the couch for 4-5 days now.

Ask Dr Dutch

Sucks. Sorry to hear, dude. Sometimes we just gotta let the thing burn itself out. Hang in there. :)

Or Dr Chimps.
Unless of course he's a real chimp.

went trhu that one week ago. This nasty shit lasted for 12 fucking days. I was coughing non stop all day and night long, couldnt sleep, with atrocious headaches, almost puked once cause i was coughing so hard.
Must be the same thing.
But i got thru it; just when i was about to go see a doc, it started getting better, but man, did it last long. Stay at home, dont do anything, eat, drink. I agravated it by going outside in the first days thinking it wouldnt be that bad. Man was i wrong.
