That plus the exclusivity equates to a 380,000 dollar motorized work of art.

Only 500 reg Lexus LFAs (possibly 50 more will be made). Had the LFA had a dula clutch tanny, chances are, it would hang with the GTR. But, I'd rather have the LFA's engine...

Yes, of course it's close in performance for much less money, but there's no exclusivity to the GTR and with that, if you can afford a GTR, just get a ZR-1

These cars are high powered vehicles with usually NA high rev motors, light weight, exclusive, and come with state of the art engineering found in F1 and other high end racing.
It's like comparing casio watches to rolex, britlings... Why do people still buy them???

Most Japanese couldn't afford the price tag, plus only 500 built and all of them spoken for.
The car has a 9,500 redline...and there is a great chance that this engine maybe put into the GS-F...
Also, a world reknowned Japanese test driver was killed in one when his car and a BMW collided...
I like it, it as a Transformer, Robotech vibe to it...

you can make an argument that these watches will hold/appreciate in value over time (although with this many being pumped out, might be a weak argument). how many of these ricer cars have appreciated in value over the years? I can't think of any. The supra kinda held its value, but even that's among a niche crowd of collectors.

Lol, all cars as a whole depreciate for the most part. There is only 500 LFA's and Lexus' only supercar. My guess is it won't drop to much. That is just speculation. How many ferrari's appreciate in value?? I can name them just about the ones that do ;)
Anyways, I wasn't making a reference to value, I was using an analogy on casios vs rolex as a reference to that they both tell time and people spend thousands on them.
If everyone bought corvettes and gtr's it'll be a boring world, hence why people will drop 300k on Ferrari 458.
I've been very fortunate to have been in and have driven plenty from SLR's to Carrera GT's, gallardos, even right hand drive r34 gtr's and s15 silvias. Owning them is a different store, lol. If there is anything I know and have experience on it's cars. And cars I mean plenty of supercars. 8)
