Anyone planning on picking up the saga on Blu-ray today? I actually, got mine at Walmart at midnight. ;D
-
Already watched it on Blueray 2 weeks ago on my projector.
-
How much is it? I thought someone said they destroyed the movie or something for the Blu-ray version?

Oh - you're a white dude - haha I honestly thought you were Victor Martinez! ;D
-
Why anybody wants to watch a classic movie like this on blue ray I don't understand.
I am not a star wars geek by any means but I love the fact that it is old and it sets me back to when I was 12.

How many times can they sell the same movie? I rented and ripped it from DVD years ago. BluRay? I'll pass. ::)

x2.
And it's ridiculous how many discs they always "need". It's like 1993 all over again when you needed 12 floppies for one game, now you just have Blu-Rays. Nothing ever changes.

Walmart and Best Buy have it for $80 but that's because it's on sale. Once the sale is over it will retail for $140.
Well, for the Blu-ray release the changes are as followed...
The Phantom Menance: Yoda has gone for puppet to CGI which I think was a GREAT change to follow the same look as the other prequels.
Return of the Jedi: Jabba's entrance door in the beginning is now shown to be bigger. Ewoks blink. But the biggest change, and I think it REALLY sucks but I'm trying to embrace it, is Vader's infamous "Nooooooooo!" when he threw the Emperor down the shaft. I think to follow Vader's "Noooooooo!" in Revenge of the Sith.
The picture to these films is so crisp and prestine with excellent audio that I think the purchase is well worth it Then again, I'm a huge Star Wars fan. ;D

Cool, I may just check this out.
I really wish that they had made the new star wars using the same industrial light and magic techniques used in the original films. I hate the look of the CGI stuff. It's so unreal, I think the original three look ten times better!

All depends on your home system set-up. If u have a top of the line tv and stereo, blu-ray makes a HuGE difference.

Agreed. I'm not a fan of CGI either.

What kind of projector do you have Army? I still have my first projector on its first lamp its an Infocus IN24 i get an Great picture off it, does 720p and 1080I on a 100 inch screen.... Started saving up for the New Panasonic Pt-ae5000 to be released at the end of this month.

Theatre, video, dvd, tv they still suck..
-
Bluray has ruined me. I can't even watch a non bluray rip no more.
-
I have a Ps3 for my blu-ray thou i have only 2 or 3 blu-rays due to my old Infocus projector not doing 1080p... Once i get it updated, all blu-ray as far as new 2005 + movies are concerned with the exception of maybe a very few classics that have been redone with 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound like the Godfather, Scarface, and Starwars
-
i won't get it, as that might hinder my gears of war 3 purchase
lol :D
-
By the way, if you plan on getting the Blu-ray version and already have them on DVD keep them because the Blu-ray does NOT include the deleted scenes already on the DVDs but rather all-new never-before-scene deleted/extended scenes.
