Title: Jay's Post-Bodybuilding Career
Post by: 240 is Back on September 17, 2011, 01:56:42 PM
What is next for Jay?

Does he hock supplements at expos, signing autographs and opening Vitamin Shoppes for the next 3 years while training only arms and wearing jerseys everywhere?

Or

Does he get into acting?

Or

... ???

Just retire and live off his investments. Maybe raise a family. It's not like he has to work. They can survive off of his wife's six figure income alone.

Supposedly, he has been "investing" his money all these years.

If this is true, he can just retire. What he has always been concerned about is his health.

He has no wife, no kids, but he does have a family back in the Midwest that will not allow him to be destitute.

I dunno. Hopefully he doesn't have to eek out a miserable existence like so many others.

i heard he lost a lot of money in the economy colapse I think there is a big market for someone like him if he truley came clean about what he took and so forth down the road. In the present the proably he could make the most money with guest appearances and so forth. just imagine if someone like jay cutler started a steroid board it could be big buisness.

Call me a natural-born skeptic, but I seriously doubt Jay has enough "investments" to retire at age forty and do nothing for the rest of his life.  ::) ::) VERY few people could do that without a drastic change in their current standard of living.

EVERYBODY WOULD HAVE TO CHANGE THIER STYLE OF LIVING ONCE RETIRED, PARTICULARLY IN A "SPORT" I ONLY DEEM BB AS A SPORT CAUSE YOUR PRIME AND CAREER IS REALLY SHORT COMPARED TO THE AVERAGE WORKING CAREER(LET'S SAY AGE 22 TO ABOUT 55-60), IN SPORTS IT'S LIKE 22 TO 35.

FOR THAT REASON, I THINK JAY SHOULD INVEST IN MAKING GYMS NATION WIDE.NOT SUPPLEMENT BULLSHIT BUT JUST GYMS. ADVERTISE HIS NAME LIKE THAT.

Jay is a multi millionare. Hell be fine.He did sY that he and Kerri no longer want children. Hed like to relax with his wife as hes been traveling for 10 years. He also said he could look alot better if he could take time off his appearances and just train but being Mr. O comes with those obligations.  He said he respects. ronnie alot more because of this.

No acting with that Rühlesq left bicep & quad imbalance.
I think he an all-or-nothing guy, so no guest appearances as a formal mr 'O.
He will prob put more focus on his real estate business.

Real estate is very much hit-or-miss in Boom & Bust Las Vegas. Supposedly that was Jay's big area of investment over the last few years, and if that is the case he is worth MUCH less than the world of bodybuilding groupies seems to think he is.

Hopefully the guy is diversified and not putting all of his eggs in the real estate basket. I could tell you about a whole host of people I know personally who have lost a ton of money in real estate in the last few years.

He'll drop a pile of weight, yet keep a decent level of fitness, think "crossfitish" . He'll do the big show circuit like most other former Mr. O's hawking this project or the other, but I never see him reaching pitiful levels like chasing down kids for taking pictures, etc.....

Jay has enough money. I'm quite sure.

He is intelligent man and wouldn't be living like that if he would have to spend every dollar he has for maintaining the lifestyle.

Remember, he has slowly progressed to the position he is today; watch all his videos and you see how his houses got better step by step, how his cars got posher step by step!

pull a ronnie and get out of the game ! The man has to be tired of the non stop lifestyle. This would be great for his physical and mental health. If he feels good in a year than he can do a show and qualify for he O and try to win it again! But I think he should get some relaxation time for a year.

Jay can't beat Phil unless Phil trips up. If hes ON, nobody will be beating him for a while. He has a true genetic gift and aesthetic.

Jay should probably exit now (and focus on his health). Economically, I think he is secure with savings and real estate.  Still, he could make money for a few more years and he probably still has time on his MT contract.  He may give the O one more run.  He's still THE MOST marketable name in bodybuilding.  He's much more appealing to companies placing at #2 or #3 than guys like Kia, Vic, Wolf, Dexter, etc.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

What would be REALLY interesting and exciting for fans and the sport as a whole would be a Ronnie Coleman return. Jay and Ronnie battling it out for second and even perhaps a refreshed and rejuvenated Ronnie swelling the fuck up and taking it back from Phil?

Jay will be fine.  He's an excellent business man.  No one has ever made more from purely bodybuilding than Jay.  He will maximize his potential in whatever avenue he pursues.  If he thinks he can get more out of bodybuilding, then he will, but he'll be set regardless of what he does.

I don't know what he will decide to do and I really don't even have a guess.  We'll know soon though, I'm sure.

Jay should form his own bodybuilding team.

He has obviously eye for future talent, ability to make "his boys" the top guns in the industry... so why not?

He can start hiring young future talents, give them sum' sponsoring and then "cash them out" when they get bigger contracts and start placing well.
