Title: How will 2011 affect Jay's Legacy?
Post by: 240 is Back on September 17, 2011, 03:03:52 PM
He was at the TOP of his game in 2010.  He made quick work of Kai and Phil.  The title was his, and he had redeemed himself.

Then 2011 happened.  The biceps "thing".  The "story" about it.  Looking 7th or 8th place.

If he finishes 1st, 2nd or 9th... How has this year changed how people will look at his entire career?

If he somehow won tonight, it would not be good. He will be looked at as a 2nx tier mr. O regardless.

Is this Jay's "ninja" moment that will be talked about in 10 years when people mention him?

All he had to do was keep turning up once a year in the same condition as 2009, didnt though, they should just give it to Philsulin

That pic of him a few days out was fucking amazing. I don't think it's over for him yet. If he looses he should try one more time then retire. He had a great career. Nothing to be ashamed of. A lot of pros hold on for to long like Pellius said.

The way Phil talked up Jay tonight, I would bet the house that Jay is paying Phil to make it look like Jay was some kind of Guru to him so Jay can stay in the lime light.  Jay saying Phil was his best friend says a shit load about Jay. Jay should have boat loads of friends back in Worcester Mass. But come to find out he doesn't. Again says a lot about Jay. Yes my friends, 100 dollars on red says that Phil was paid off. And payed off big. Remember that before Phil made a dime, Phil thought this muscletech deal was shit. They both are money sucking users who are going to pay off each other to stay reverent. More so Jay now that he is at stage 3 Palumboism.

Its bodybuilding...no one really cares enough to pay anyone off. Let alone Jay paying off people to seem like they're his friend? What? You're so fuckin high hahahaa

Hello drama queen what's up?

Jay said Phil his best friend and he believed he could get far in bodybuilding that's all.

I remember maybe about four years ago in a video someone ask him to describe Phil Heath in a couple of words. Jay said, "The future."

I think their friendship is genuine. I  think Jay is genuine and helped Phil out a lot. Jay is a class act and possesses that trait that is slowly dying out -- decency.

Dorian holding up Flex's hand after he was called Mr. O---it's on the video, it also gave scale that Flex's arms at 218 were the same size as Dorian's who was 257.

Lol, hate to be negative but I have jump in and agree about this. I mean they do this in Miss Universe and Americas Next Supermodel shows!

Leading up to a show they describe it as "going to battle", and "do damage". And all that heavy metal playing throughout the show, very macho poses. Then that.

Could you ever imagine Arnold doing this?

I would love to be a fly on Hany's shoulder......

Hany to Phil - "congrats we fucking did it" (as he jumps into his arms)

Seconds later (looking forelorn),Hany to Jay, "it's ok, we'll get that lil prick next year"......

yeah, good sport on jay's part.... as far as "hogging the limelight" he (cutler) is the/still leading rep of bodybuilding worldwide.. and chic wanted cutler to talk and hear his thoughts... if jay had turned down chic and walked off the stage, then the public both in the audience and elsewhere would have then thought that "jay was a poor loser" and a "jerk".... so there you go...

i will say though (maybe it's just me) but i would have a really, really hard time dealing with losing to someone who i taught.... who was in the minor leagues more or less while i was the champion and then to take him under my wing and in a few short years comes up and then LOSE to them... that would be a hard pill to swallow no matter how nice and how much friends you are... i mean ego is GOD in the male psyche, especially among bbers and champions in any sport...

the teacher never ever wants to lose to the student!

so now with jay let it go... or fight next year to show "WHOSE THE REAL BOSS/ALPHA MALE" in their friendship?

Not sure why but I'm a big fan. He is a laid back cool guy that is smart and good with money, plus he's not into the recreational drug scene. He is one of the last bodybuilders remaining who actually make bodybuilding almost look like a sport. His training vids are very motivational and he has a great work ethic. I'm definitely going to his appearance to meet him when he comes to my town.
