Definately not.  GF really pays little or no attention to political issues.   She hates Obama though - ill tell you that much.

Was it your common hatred that brought you together?

i'm not sure she knows president changes.  she asked me a few weeks back how Palin was doing at her job.

I assured her that while the 2008 job interview didn't go so well, GlenRice had a very solid NBA career.

She shrugged and went back to watching the Friends episode where Ross sleeps with the xerox chick.. "We were on a break!"

The majority of women are not intelligent enough to engage in a meaningful political discussion.

My latest ex had zero interest in politics, either those of her home country or those of the USA, in fact the only thing she had interest in was shopping and eating out on my bill.

Good thing she is an Ex!

It was astounding, as she was Korean but I knew more about the politics and recent history of her country, also didn't care about American politics despite living in NYC. I used to think political interests weren't important in relationships but I think they are now, especially if there are conflicts there. A few months back I had a date that first went well and then went terribly because we started talking about politics and I vehemently disagreed with her. Sadly, it's hard to find many libertarians in the world. :-\

You are doing it wrong, son.  Your dates with girls that you are interested in will go much better if you just agree with everything she says.  Is she a right wing nut?  So are you.  Is she a neo liberal commie?  So are you.  Does she love Palin?  So do you.   :)

Sorry, can't do that, I mean you can tolerate some stuff but putting stricter control on marijuana by the government is just...too much.

As a rule, I never discuss politics with anyone I just met, man or woman, regardless of environment.   Way too polarizing.

I do.  All the time.  It's actually not that difficult to talk politics with people (in real life).  Just don't argue with them and respect their opinions.  I have great discussions with people who have polar opposite political views.

I was just kidding!    ;D

How does the saying go?  "If you wanna make friends and keep them, don't discuss politics or religion."  Or something like that.

Arnold and Maria are Repub and Dem, and they got along just fine, for a little while.   :-\

Yeah, I hear you. I think for me even worse than an extremely conservative or liberal person would be an extremely religious person but who knows?

I would imagine on the islands, you might meet a more laid back type of person.  I live in Boston, surrounded by Massholes.

lol.  It's true that people here are much more laid back than the mainland, but I'm all over the place, and talk to people from all over.

I actually like people from Boston and NY.  Love the brutal honesty.  You always know where they're coming from.  I respect and appreciate that.  But they do have to tone it down when they move here.   :)

Also, you catch people when they're removed from the day to day chaos.

I've live in NJ / NY / Boston.  Boston people seem to be the most on-edge.....
