lol read the sign above the mirror , I believe this was before the 1980 Mr Olympia which leads one to believe there was some truth to the rumor that Arnold really did want to teach Mentzer a lesson for whatever reason

Correct ND, After Arnolds Retirement, in the Late 1970s Mike was coming into his own and was being Touted as the Next big thing to Dethrone the then current champ Zane, Mikes Seminars @ the time were HUGE make no mistake, and his Radical Theroys on his heavy duty less is "best" Remarks Directly CHALLENGED the more accepted and widely used system Arnold and the other Greats had used...in a nut shell Mike was saying those Principles were Outdated and BBing was about the Future NOT the past....The Future in Essence being HIM and the Past being Arnold... his "revolutionary" ideas on HD was gaining more and more momentum in those years and was getting Alot of Publicity in the BBing mags, declaring @ one of his Seminars that if Arnold had used His system....he would of been "better" this was in Print in one of the Old Mags of the era, whether or not any of that had any bearing on Arnolds Obvious Dislike of Mentzer is any-ones guess, if you get the Chance (if you already haven't)...read a Copy of Rick Wayne's "Muscle wars" he Touch's (if Memory serves correct) lightly on this Subject as well, that book is Very interesting.

Yes its a good insight into the Early years, Reg park upwards, as with all of Wayne's Writings theres always a Hint of BS to it, however dig a little deeper into the Basic Facts though-out the book...its a Excellent insight into the Controversy's and so on back in those times.

It was pretty straightforward, just in Ricky Wayne style. Lot of bodybuildings Golden Age covered from Scott to Haney, skipping 82 and 83 basically and ending in 85; Sergio's last contest.

Rick Wayne spewed a lot of hatred and jealously towards Arnold in Arnold's unauthorized Biography, not saying some if not a fair bit was true but the way it came out showed him up.
