It's becouse he looked strong and was male, this girl is cute and looks fragile. It's natural for human to have those feelings towards fragile creatures who need help. It's not cool to loose those feelings either.

You're either cold or pretend to be... It's sad.

I agree, but she has a rather stupid tattoo so she is far from fragile.

What if this was a 180 lb 5`1 Black Woman with a Looney Tunes Shirt on.  Would you feel the same then?

I don't know, whoever that would be I would feel happy for him. It might not have made me break in tears like this one, but does it change anything? I admit I am more sensitive towards some creatures, especially old people, dogs and women. Color of skin doesn't change anything.

Yah, if you are easily fooled by Lifetime television motivational movies and Hallmark Sympathy cards then I can understand.

The husband, earless wonder and the media should be ashamed of themselves for purporting that this is the first time she can hear and the first time she hears her own voice.  Screw those two gimmicks I say.  Its complete horseshit and like the rest of the morons, you fell for it and fell hard with a weep fest.

Take away the camera, the Speech Therapist`s dramatics and the Husband`s prodding and I am willing to bet nothing would have happened.  You see, emotions can easily be forced out of people when the proper setting is created.  Take the whole 9/11 tributes for instance.  You had people balling their little eyes out for a weekend straight all because it was setup for that very reason.  As if 10 trips around the sun has any more special meaning than 2 or 3 trips.  Its all a bunch of hogwash and people will fall for group-think and mass demonstrations and emotional setups every single time.  Crying at a movie is no different.  Mirror Neurons are always switched on during all of this.

I most certainly did.  It was setup like some cheap TV movie of the week.  The whole thing is a lie anyways.  She has used a hearing aid, like Lou Ferrigno did for her whole life.  She was able to hear and she could hear her own voice always.  Now she can hear it a little better.  Why make more of it than it really is?

Drama queens.

You clearly have no clue what you are talking about.  I have a friend who's been deaf since birth as well, she uses hearing aids to get about 5% hearing, she's never heard her own voice, just muffles of sound.  She can speak clearly and you can have a full conversation with her 1 on 1.  In a group she misses a lot because she can only read one set of lips at a time.  Just because this woman used hearing aids doesn't mean she was able to hear at all.  We would have to know her specific case and how much the hearing aids helped her hearing, my friend only gets about 5% out of them which is barely enough to alert of her of loud noises such as car horns.

For someone who copies most of his information from the internet I would have thought you would have done some reading on this subject first before making such retarded comment.

5 % WTF does that mean?  ???

On my computer you can turn the volume up by increments to 100 percent and guess what, I can hear still on 5 %.

Amazing what technology can do. I googled the device and it costs approximately $30,000 for this device. It's implanted behind the ear under the skin.

Why are you trying so hard to undermine positive feelings connected with this movie? You sound sad, lonely and frustrated. I've been there where you are now. Spending 90% of the time on boards, trying to look cold, ironic, sarcastic, be that sophisticated intelligent person who doesn't care. Attacking anyone who shares his positive feelings. That's typical mate and I clearly understand your motives. I'm not THERE anymore so I won't reveal where are you really in your life right now, but I tell you - get out of it ASAP.
