That's how all magazines are. My girlfriends mom bought me a subscription to mens health. Every month it's the same recycled garbage over and over again.

While I agree with you, having not bought a magazine in at least 5yrs, I still think there's something (at least for me) to be said for holding a magazine in your hands versus a iPad or reading the screen of your PC at your house.

FLEX is the most annoying muscle mag. Thousands of recycled articles on "training and nutrition", but not a single word on drugs which are responsible for 80% of success in professional bodybuilding. Not one.

No way, I need someone soft and fragrance free otherwise it can irritate down there.
On a long ass flight say from aussie to the usa (12 hours straight) trust me, magazines are very much appreciated.

Who here reads the articles in Playboy or Penthouse?

Flex and these other mags are just pictorials for phags.  Surprised they don't come with a complimentary packet of tissue.

Actually, in the mid 90s, Flex mag had tons of articles on drugs, full with pics of needles and pills. They even had a former Pro talked about what was like to get off of them. And they had Mike Christian talk about when he first took a pin in the ass, and his drug usage.

Hey, that photographer who took this pic, Jason Ellis, isn't that the same guy that was accused of statutory rape of a 15 year old some years back? I guess everything is back to normal.

Interesting, like always there are differences between the language editions of a magazine.
Back in the days, I bought both the US and European edition of Ironman. They were two completely different mags, the IM logo and Mike Neveux photo's excluded.
Any idea who that "former pro" was?

In Flex Magazine ?

yes FLEX, was great, advice was poor from nowadays view, but the did talk about it , even serious dosage/cycles were named (about 1500mg AAS total)

not really pro drugs articles and some very against it (don t remember the name of a guy -superheavyweith on national level, who pretty much told how ist was)

was the time the "facts" behind the death of ray McNeal, or andy munzer were takled about in the magazins too

Yep, they had a "Drug World" section that I always used to skip.

Only thing I read was the 2 part article by the pro that you're probably referring to. Was it by Philip Goglia? It was very well written.

funny that cutler looks better when he's on the cover of flexmag than "our" new mr.o...

speaking of flex mag and it's no information on what the pros take.. doesn't muscular development have pages of information on juice supplementation? i think they do.. now if it's legit and real, that i don't know...

The photos (for one) are duplicated into many, many layers, and then thrown back together. It's easier this way as far as tedious work is concerned. It also helps for that "3D" look that is talked about so much.

All photos on every magazine cover from Readers Digest to Penthouse are touched-up to some extent. Wedding photos, whatever ~ photography in general is not considered *complete* these days without enhancement.

It's no secret, it's just simply that folks don't know what they are looking at. What they don't know might not hurt them... in bodybuilding, well... it can be a real let-down for the youngsters.

The most hilarious photos ever, made strictly for advertising are your " before and after" shots. They are actually taken within minutes of eachother, yet they state that they are weeks (or months) apart. When you start lying to people to steal their money, it becomes a problem, otherwise you can just chalk it up for pure *creativity*
