I think you would be hard pressed to find a person who loved money more than Don Lapre.
A dude like that just couldn't make it in prison, no f'n way.

Self-Mutilation Suspected
In Apparent Suicide
Officials found a "large amount of blood" in the jail cell where "King of Infomercials" Don Lapre was discovered Sunday morning, law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... and we're told it appears Don had cut himself.
As we previously reported, Don was set to appear in court on Tuesday to face 41 counts of conspiracy and fraud ... for allegedly selling a bogus product called The Greatest Vitamin in the World.
Don's body was discovered in his Arizona jail cell early Sunday morning -- officials believe he committed suicide.
So far, no word on what object Don may have used to allegedly cut himself.

I watched this guys infomercials in the 90's and always wondered what happened to him. I knew of course he was full of crap and it was a bullcrap scam but he always filmed outside a mansion with yachts passing by. We were talking about get rich schemes and someone brought him up and wondered what happened to him. I did a google search and learned he offed himself in a jail cell. I know this thread is old but I thought it was interesting that a guy who bilked people out of a reported 52 million would kill himself. He had tried it once before and was found in a Lifetime Fitness Locker room with stab wounds to his groin, He apparently stayed like that for 2 days before he was discovered. This was in 2011. The Lifetime Fitness reference makes it body building material

It seems like every bodybuilding supplement is marketed with wild claims. It's a shame they went after Don. Don would have done a bit of time and got out. Dumb move on his part. Kevin Trudeau is another late night infomercial guy they went after.

I bought his stuff in the 90's and it wasn't really a scam just common sense stuff that actually made me some extra cash. He seemed to be really bi polar almost jumping out of his skin with excitement yet talking about how he used to be depressed. Not shocked when he killed himself as he was at an all-time low losing his wife, fortune and reputation. Probably was in his depressed cycle and just couldn't see a way out so said "fuck it, I'm out of here."

I think he lost all of his infomercial money and did a prison sentence so had to start all over.
