Title: Question for Coach...
Post by: BIG ACH on October 07, 2011, 11:18:47 AM

Coach, I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but what do you actually coach?  High School?  College?  Private training sessions?

What sports do you coach?

    * Train Each bodypart every 5-7 days, no more, but make sure you tax it enough to be sore for at least 2days
    * Keep weights workouts under an hour
    * Do 20 mins cardio sessions every 3 days no matter if "bulking" or "cutting", this will "kick" your metabolism into gear and help food intake
    * Stretch, stretch, stretch... AFTER you train a "muscle" group.
    * Train early in the day if possible; you'll get used to it.
    * Allways listen to music and look pissed while training, this keeps the schmoes away. If someone 'aks' you if you're "using this" (even thought you're standing 50' away from it), ignore it and turn your back
    * Fuck free weights, If a machine provides the same tension, don't waste your time loading a fucking bar just to be a purist; preacher curl machine is the best example.
    * Don't wear work boots. 1999-2001 is behind us now.
    * Plastic "gallons" of water aren't necessary as you never drink a whole while training anyway and the next time you use it the water is tainted. Also makes you look like a tool.
    * Don't wear Jeans especially when doing legs. Again, a Tool move.
    * Don't spend too much time on Muscle boards, it affects your judgment and perception.
    * Stay in school.
    * Don't do drugs.
    * Discuss.

Aside from my business, I am the strength and conditioning coach for JV/Varsity football, baseball and wrestling ( D1 CIF Champs '11) for one school and strength and conditioning coach for football at another D1 High school (multiple CIF champs in football) as well as their wrestling team. About 230 kids total. As of this year I'm also the Assistant Coach for JV/Varsity baseball. Not so much MMA anymore, a couple here and there.

That real cool man!  Props!

My old strength coach from High School was a huge influence on me!  I don't think I would be where I am today if it wasn't for him!

He once put me through a 30 minute leg work out, that caused me to both puke and pass out! LOL

You're right, Keep it simple....but not easy. Training on machines tells me you're not willing work and to make it as easy as possible.

Question Coach. You're as tall as a average sized gnome. Why should you be believed?

Why would you do that? It's not like you would produce any natural test, total crash and burn.
