A couple months back at the Disney D23 expo they had the cast of the Avengers out for an interview and showed this footage and then some. At one point in the shown footage they feature Tony Stark going back and forth with Loki and the conversation was something as follows:
“Let’s do a head count,” Stark says, as the camera cuts to shots of Renner and Johansson as Hawkeye and Black Widow. “Two world class assassins …”
Cut to Thor: “A demigod …”
Cut to Captain America: “A living legend who actually lives up to the legend …”
Now we’re back with Loki and Stark: “And you, big fella!” Stark says. “You’ve managed to piss off every single one of them!”
“I have an army,” Loki snarls.
Stark gets right in the villainous god’s face. “We have a Hulk.”

Shockwave already corrected you on this point in another thread months ago. In the movie Odin strips him of his powers and banishes him to Earth to teach him some humility. Which is why he gets tasered and knocked around.
They did a good job of showing how strong he is when he is his normal self, like when he's battling the frost giants.

He is quite the strong and powerful one WHEN he is on.
