I believe he only started training in his 30s..? maybe he had a training partner that offered "gud advisez"

There weren't much drugs around when he was in his mid 20's (he was born in '33), so training would have been waste of time.  ;D

also katsumi ishimura, started training in his 40s, was a heavy smoker and bad shape, doc told him to start working out, turned pro.

Katsumi is a great guy, won the over 60's class at the Masters Olympia once i think

Both those guys in their 60's look better than most everyone did over 45 at the Masters World Championships, IMO.
