This could have been an amazing show but instead the IFBB have kept is as one class and many of the old pros in their 50's have pulled out.
What possessed the powers that be Chick?? Surely they knew that the likes of Vince Taylor would not want to be judged against Dexter and Freeman?
Was is just coincidence that Labrada & Gaspari peaked again this year? Now we will never know.

Typical IFBB and Weider - They fucked the Post Olympia Grand Prix tours by demanding so much of the money that the promoter made fuck all and now they have a golden opportunity and mis-manage that too! None of the over 50's are going to bust their butt and spend a fortune of drugs and hormones to come in 10th and out of the money.

With Pros in their early 40ies being a regular sight in pro shows the entry age should be at least 45 if not 50.
I have no idea how much money could be won but I imagine that it might not be enough to be stretched out among several winners in several age classes so instead of putting up more money they scrapped the idea of the age classes - might be the best idea anyway from the viewpoint of keeping those older guys healty - no contest no heavy drug use :)

Agreed, they should have started this at age 50. 40 is now not so old in bodybuilding. Line up is going to be a quarter of what it would have been now >:(

A show like this should have 40-47, 48-58, 59+

Should have a decades division break down, from the 80s, 90s and past 2000:
