Gee, I wonder why a guy like Steve Forbes thinks the flat tax is so great

calling it the "fair tax" is a great gimmick too

what could be unfair about the "fair tax" ?

The issue with that is the tax breaks for children.  So unless you want to remove those, thus 'attacking' the families of the middle class.  The point you are making has no viable solution.  Neither party supports that.

Oh fucking please.

So tell me what is "fair"?

Everyone needs to pay the same rate.   that is what is fair.

10% for EVERYONE and thats it.

If the thieves cant live on that, downsize the govt until it can.

No it's not.  Not even Adam Smith, the founder of modern Capitalism, thought that.  Only YOU think that.  A flat tax is regressive not progressive.  Look up the terms and you'll see why.

To specify, when the 47% number is posted it is talking about Income Tax.

333 said they pay "nothing at all" which is obviously not true

I have no problem with people below a certain income level paying little or no taxes

trying to squeeze a few extra dollars out of the poor and middle class isn't going to do a damn thing

Maybe if their gains in income were near the gains of the top 20% (the chart of the top 1% is ridiculous) I might feel differently about it

A socialist cherry-picking Adam Smith. Too funny.

Oh so he didn't write that?  I guess anytime you quote someone it's "cherry picking".  Should i just copy and paste the whole Wealth of Nations?
