Hey guys, I had some time so I decided to share some pics of Ronnie from the BFTO 1998. This is Ronnie 10 days after the 1998 Mr. Olympia. Looks amazing.

You got any pics of JP Fux from the BFTOs? There was a segment of his that was in B&W, doing light weights, but he looked sick when he poses in the end. Think it might be the 96 BFTO.

Ronnie was a beast, but he doesn't have an appealing body (no homo) The fact is he made other men look like children, but his shape, his "abs" his gyno, lack of calves is not a shape I'd ever want to be in. I know I would never be able to get that big, but if I could I wouldn't want to look like it.
For fucks sake he sounds winded sitting down and talking.

Yeah, it's from BFTO 1996. He looks crazy!!! I'll make a different thread and post those pics since it's from a different DVD. Just give me some time.

Man you can tell looking at Flex's lower back hams and glutes he wasn't gonna be ready (he wasn't). Pretty sad really, Flex could have made history...

You think he's wider than Phil Heath? They've always looked about the same in the Front lat spread and front relaxed poses. And yes, Shawn Ray as well.

That was my point, that he's about the same as Heath, but no one pings him for it. I think both of them are about the same, but Dex is shorter and has a better chest, so he doesn't look as "bad" as Phil.
PH's narrowness isn't that big a disadvantage as far as I'm concerned - he actually looks better in the mandatories than just about everyone else.

Phil's narrowness isn't an issue , and the same morons who are harping on it are the exact same ones who scream to high heaven that Shawn can and should have beaten Dorian despite his narrowness
Phil does take most of the mandatories and he is the most complete all around bodybuilder and sans coming in way off I don't foresee him losing again

Dex is 5'6 (listed as 5'7), so I would guess he's narrower than Phil, or matches him.
Flex was narrow, which is one of reasons why his latspread wasn't wide, just like Phil's.
Flex was an illusion due to his tiny waist.

I think width is in part affected by head size. I look narrow but I think I have more or less an average frame with a head too big for my body.

I think Ronnie is still the only bodybuilder you brought it to another level after Dorian. Not to take anything away from Jay and Phil, but Ronnie was just untouchable for a while there, especially in 2003! :o

Dexter doesnt have the huge imbalances that Phil has though, better lines. But yes he, Flex and Shawn were all narrow. Flex gets hugely overrated. He was spot on a few times 93, 96 AC. Shawn and Dex were far better career bodybuilders.

Shawn was really not a better career bodybuilder than Flex , he won 2 pro shows , Flex won 17 that's a massive discrepancy , Shawn may have been more consistent from show to show but he didn't compete as much
Dexter is close to Flex in terms of career wins etc , and he also won an Olympia which Flex never did , But Flex at his best would leave Dexter for dead at his in my opinion

Flex was in and out of shape compared to his best a lot, the same can't be said for Shawn or Dex.
It's all opinions, but i think Dex at his best would do fine against Flex. Shawn and Flex both got robbed a fair bit in regards to wins.
