i think the regulations about clean air and water are the ones that piss me off the most.
-
This is all on Obama. Since some in the board want to give Obama all the credit for military "accomplishments", I think they should also remember what a great leader he has been for the economy.
-
The thread title is off... It's out of the top 10 to start a business in.
From the Article itself.
"While the United States ranks fourth in the over-all ease of doing business in 2011, it didn't crack the top 10 for start-ups."
-
I guess you missed this from the number 1 country - where most of the government agencies that a start-up needs are linked online, keeps the country on top.
-
By the way all of the 3 top countries have some form of government run health care. I thought that would put people out of business???

We have the worst of both worlds.

Blame Capitalism. The failed system worldwide.

Australia is riding a housing bubble just like the one that destroyed our economy, sweetheart.
It's cute when people who haven't the faintest fucking idea what they're talking about try to assert themselves as some sort of intellectual dynamos.

It's comical, really. 3/4 of the Eurozone countries are beyond bankrupt after decades of welfare state policies spending money they don't have. Yet there's Captain Islam sitting there still advocating for it.
We really should copy an economic model where 20% unemployment, over-regulation, excessive taxation and little to no economic growth is the norm. ::)
Look at what socialist policies have done to this country. $15 trillion in debt with entitlement payments consuming more and more of our economy.

Hahaha so the Australian housing bubble is caused by universal health care and socialist policies? Haha no. It's cause by speculation and capitalist greed.
We don't have socialist policies. We have capitalist attempts at fixing problems with a faulty system and ideology.

And tell me what special knowledge you have to make that determination that capitalism is flawed.

Who made that claim, sweetheart? When that bubble pops and takes Australia's economy with it, how are they going to pay for that healthcare? Oh, never mind, you're a neo-Keynesian.
FIRE UP THE PRINTING PRESSES! BERNANKICIDE, WHERE'S THAT FUCKING INK? WE NEED IT, STAT!
And tell me what special knowledge you have to make that determination that capitalism is flawed.
Because bankrupt Europe, with almost 3/4 of its economies in various levels of collapse, can do it better. ::)
You have to look at this through the eyes of a neo-Keynesian fucktard. They know nothing beyond spending money and printing more when they run out.
-
maybe we need to be more like Australia, New Zealand and Canada (the top 3)
Let's start by adopting their healthcare system
Whatever they are doing for healthcare it seems to haven't hurt the business environment

I agree. It's good that you do too as Obamacare is nothing like what they've got. Great point!
First things first is to repeal Obamacare (the Supreme Court will take care of this) and then replace it with something worthwhile (i.e. something that won't ruin this country like financially like Obamacare will and already has started doing).
Oh wait, you're oblivious to the $60-100 trillion we already have in unfunded liabilities. FIRE UP THE PRINTING PRESSES, the neo-Keynesians need to spend more!

cool, tell us more about what healthcare is like in Australia
maybe we'll finally find something we can agree on

Its hard to compete with China, India etc..

The Australian government forces people to buy houses? ???
Hahaha sure they do.
it is capitalist thought and greed that push housing prices up. Opportunistic individuals, helped on by lenders more than willing to shovel them into debt. The government is not without its fault but it does not force anyone to buy a house. Capitalist thought fails yet again as we see more boom and bust.
Nothing will grow forever, unless you believe in capitalism right?
-
The root of the problem is profit over people. Profit over sustainability. That is the capitalist thought that permeates the western world and dooms us to cycles of boom and bust, to further wealth inequality and the evaporation of basic needs and rights.

Not at all. We can all lived fulfilling lives but we need to stop thinking of ourselves as "commodities" whose only worth is what profit we can produce for some company.

There is a hippie commune in NYC that would suit you perfectly. Why not go there?
