I listened more than I watched, but it sounded like Jay did a good job with those kids.

That fat coach must be a "great" inspiration for them  ::)
It's the character building and work ethic that a youth football coach instills in the kids that matters, not his physique. Young kids don't care about that. They'll remember the things he said and how he treated them much more than what he looked like when they get to high school or when they become adults.

Take in count kids play American football, where even many pros are fat...

Apart from his monotone voice, Jay is a good speaker.
Imagine that fat coach telling the same as Jay, not really a role model for "work ethic".

But I agree, it's pathetic that those fatties get paid for being an "athlete".

They are athletes. I guarantee that 90% of the offensive lineman in the NFL can run faster or lift heavier weights than you can. These big boys can MOVE. The worst pro football player in the NFL that you can think of is 10X better than any football player you grow up around in your little neck of the woods.

FACT

We can say all this negative stuff about how Jay Cutler sounds when he speaks or how he looks, etc... However, let's all keep in mind, he is one of the few, if not the only, bodybuilder doing stuff like this.  It's this type of stuff that will slowly give bodybuilding a better image.  It's stuff like this that is another example of how smart and good of a business man Jay is.  A lot to learn from this actually...

The training is very tough(esp. mentally) and you have to be fat or you don't stand a chance unless your technique is unreal.
The have it way harder than a lean person.

Lee Haney did and still does do things like this. Haney was a great ambassador for the sport as Mr. O too.

As far as slowly giving bodybuilding a better image...well, I wouldn't get carried away. In one on one encounters or settings like we saw here, well spoken bodybuilders can make a favorable impression on people. However, bodybuilding is what it is. The freak show that is IFBB bodybuilding will never have broad appeal because the guys are so over-the-top with their size and obvious drug use.

Not true.  I lifted with a 2nd round draft pick for two years, he was a Linebacker for the Jacksonville Jaguars and I was stronger than him on every lift.

Yep.

His name is James Hamilton, 2nd round draft pick out of UNC Chapel Hill, played for Jacksonville Jaguars as a Linebacker.

His lifts were Squat: 385 ass to ground squat.
His Deadlift was 435
His Bench was around 315, usually 285.

He told me there were very few people on the Jaguars at the time who could bench 405 and most who could were over 300 lbs so they weren`t very good lifts.

Can you prove this?

to back Adonis (oh brother), there is a player from the CFL at my gym and I own the shit out of him on every lift.

of course he is a better athlete than me and probably run 5 times faster than I, and of course the CFL ain't even close to the NFL but he has a point.

having awesome skills in football don't make them "stronger" than gymrats

BUT, of course, I am sure the majority of the NFL players would destroy me in the gym

There's a lot variables. Certain position player you can beat some you can't. In most football programs the total time in the gym (with the team) is usually about 45min. But as far as the overall program, it's difficult. Especially at the end after the strength when they do conditioning. TA probably did but in Hamilton's prime TA or mostly anyone on here wouldn't last let alone keep up.

Prob only as an anonymous background character in a thirteen in a dozen low-budget action movie.
