Title: T3 and Potassium Levels
Post by: Overload on October 24, 2011, 01:47:31 PM
Anyone ever had an issue with T3 causing your potassium levels to drop drastically?

I have a friend who started 50mcg of T3 a few weeks ago and he has been having some serious cramping all over his body and extreme muscle weakness.  He went to the doctor and they said his potassium and magnesium levels were critically low and they put him on medication to force his kidneys to hold on to potassium.

He didn't tell the Doctor about his T3 use and probably should have IMO.  All he is using is 500mg Test and 50mcg of legit T3 with a moderate carb diet.  He has lost 12 pounds in the 3 weeks he has been on T3 but due to cramps and weakness he could barely do a push up over the weekend and went to the Doc this morning.  His diet is good and he eats plenty of fruit and veggies.

Anything you guys can think of?

Legit T3?  As in human grade?  What brand?

I've never heard of T3 at 50mcg doing that.  No way.  He's got bunk shit or either something else going on.

He told me it is Cytomel by King Pharma.

Not sure if it's some counterfeit stuff from Pakistan or not.  I haven't actually seen it.

Well they were bought out by Pfizer.  But Pakistan is notorious for selling counterfeits, especially some of these more popular pakistani wholesalers on alibaba and tradekey.  Wouldn't be surprised if your boy got lasix mixed in with his T3.  Lasix would appear to have the same effects. Has he been peeing more?

Thanks for the responses!

He got it from a friend at the gym so who knows where this shit came from.

I told him to trash the shit and find another source.

No it doesnt.  Clen depletes taurine which is responsible for the muscle cramping.  I've never heard of anyone having depleted potassium levels from clen.

What's a good source of taurine then, as I'm prone to cramps generally, always have been, but moreso on gear it seems. (prop/tren a/mast only at the moment, but eq too when I use that.)
