Title: What are Great "Sayings" or "Self Talk" taught to kids.
Post by: Mega Man on October 25, 2011, 02:08:31 AM
I was raised well, to be level-headed, with great self-confience, maners ect, in a overall decent christian home. I remember my parents, teachers, and Sesame Street, taught me certain saying or lessons that taught me how to deal with people and build confidence. But as I got older, and entered adult-work-life, and stopped hearing the repetition of these saying and positive reinforcement from teachers, Children Shows, and parents....I forgot a lot of the sayings and/or teachings that were good for dealing with people and maintaining great confidence. Because I've been dealing with a lot of annoying people at work, and I remember when I was younger I handled it easier cause I had the fresh teachings from parents and teachers in my head, but we forget as we get older, and live stressfull lives. So I'm trying to remeber and learn again...all the sayings that were helpfull in different life situations.

Help me make a list of sayings, and I will make an audio track of them, that I can play and post on Youtube to help learn them again....They can be about any subject or lesson, that are commonly taught as kids or school, the we forget as we get older and stressed. Here's what I have so far.

"Just ignore them, they don't know any better"

"everything happens for a reason"

"GOD knows the truth"

"The Truth always comes out in the end"

"People that are great, don't have to brag"

"Arguing only makes things Worse"

"What goes Around Comes Around"

"Nobody's Perfect"

"Everybody's Different"

"They're more nervous then you"

"The Cream always rises to the top"

"Just do what you're supposed to, and Everything will work out"

"Worry about yourself, not other people"

Okay thats what I remembered so far....what are some more??? They don't have to be related to dealing with people. They can be on any subject. But Im trying to remember the realy common ones that are taugth to us growing up form kids to highschool, form parents, childrens shows, teachers, and coaches, but we forget as we go out on are own, and stopping hearing them.

"We all have to do things we don't want to do."

"If they stop liking you because of X, they never really were your friend in the first place."

Guess those aren't really that positive

Don't judge a book by it's cover

You can do anything you set your mind to.

Keep your friends close & your enemies closer.

If you can't say anything nice....

Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Nothing in life is certain except death & taxes.

Life is like a box of chocolates. ..

work smarter, not harder

only thing you can control is what you do, so when someone does you wrong remember that and try not to let their actions drive you to act in a way that you know is wrong.

Easier said than done(see above)

it is, what it is

always try to learn something new each day

schooling is the foundation for your future

enjoy fresh air and sunshine as much as you can

increase your native vocabulary and then learn a new language

do something nice for someone else for no other reason other than you CAN
