CORPUS CHRISTI, TX -- Former businessman turned presidential frontrunner Herman Cain continued his attempts to calm voters concerns over his lack of foreign policy experience during a campaign stop here Wednesday night.

“Relative to foreign policy, I don’t need to know the details of every one of the issues we face.

"We’ve got plenty of experts who can fill in the details,” Cain said at dinner held by the Nueces County Republican Women.

The former Godfather’s Pizza CEO told the 900 supporters in attendance that the key to dealing with issues abroad is to develop a clear foreign-policy philosophy, a line he often has repeated on the trail.

That philosophy: clarify who the United States'- friends and enemies are – something Cain says President Obama has failed to do.

During his two-day swing through the Lone Star State, Cain began both campaign speeches critiquing the president’s decision to withdraw all troops from Iraq by the end of the year.

“When he withdraws all of the troops out of Iraq, it’s going to leave a huge power vacuum for Iran to go in and disrupt everything and undue everything that we’ve been trying to help them do on the last several years,” Cain said while speaking at the Clear Lake Tea Party in La Marque, TX on Tuesday.

Thanks.  “Relative to foreign policy, I don’t need to know the details of every one of the issues we face.  We’ve got plenty of experts who can fill in the details . . . .”   Just a tad different than the thread title.  And he's right.  Nothing wrong with his comments.  He's not a politician.

cain might be ready to lead on the economy.

but he's not ready on other issues.  It's that simple.

personally I DO want a leader who can tell me who is the president of ubeky-becky-stan.  As well as tell me what the history of that nation is.

Jeebus... 300 million americans... at least 150 million of which are conseravtives... and you can't put 5 people at the top of the nomination who have a clue on economy AND foreign policy?

Cain's right.  I doubt anyone can name a president or candidate who knows all of the details of every one of our foreign policy issues.

That's what an army of analysts are for.

They prefer Obama confidently spouting lies and bs to someone admitting that he does not know every detail.

See, people like 180 and Andre prefer Obama giving a nonsensical speech to a group of gullible sheep and morons like they themselves are, as opposed to someone admitting they need to study up on a subject.

When Maobama confidently said doctors were lopping off feet for 35K or stealing tonsils, lemmings like 180 and Andre took it as truth since it was their "Black Jesus" saying it as opposed to someone like Cain who might admit he does not know something.

To the gullible fools who support Obama  like 180, straw, andre, blackass, etc, appearances matter far more than actual truth or veracity.  That is why they voted for the Kenyan Communist in the first place.

has anyone asked him some anything obscure in this area?  Yea, nobody is going to know it all and that's reasonable, but there's a lot he should be able to talk about without this being the fallback answer.  If he's just going to pass on this kind of answer for all these type of questions, that's not going to look good.  I don't see people tripping up Paul on shit like this.

i love it.  this pussified class of GOP candidates.

Perry: "I don't want to do debates cause they make me look bad."

Cain: "I'm an IDEAS guy... I don't need to know anything about foreign policy."

Mitt: "My 1994 positions match Obama's 2008 positions to a tee, and I'm the best thing going, bitches".

He didn't make the comment due to being asked a question in an obscure area, he made it in the context of his lack of foreign policy.

If it's something that he does try to use as a regular fall-back position, then I agree - it would be just trying to bitch out of something that he should have at least a degree of familiarity with when running for POTUS.

Oh LOOK!  240's learning that there's no such thing as a perfect candidate!

This is so cool!  It's like seeing your kids learn to walk for the 1st time.

C'mon buddy...you can do it...I'm soooo proud of you!  Keep thinking....you're getting there....

180 prefers the Sham Wow POTUS who gives the false appearance of knowing WTF is going on but actually is a fraudulent POFS lying to his face.

180 is the like the media hack during the 1990's who applauded the masterful lies and spin of clinton, even though everyone knew he was lying.   So its not truth or falsehood that people like 180 care about, its the ability to sell their lies that he admires.

Fucking pathetic.

If Cain knew he was running for president a year ago - and he probably did - and he knows that a big chunk of the job of POTUS is to lead american foreign policy - then his ass should have been on wikipedia for 2 hours each day, learning as much about us history and current policy as possible.

Obviously, he does not.  I'm betting many getbiggers know more about important things like the bush doctrine and neoconservatism - the policy and guiding force of US foreign policy for the last decade - than Cain does.

Come on, guys, every 5,000th post he points out that he's really a conservative and that deep down he really doesn't like Obama. Those other 4,999 posts defending the ground he walks on actually don't exist.

And the economy was the biggest issue of 2008 and you supported Obama despite the fact the he was clueless, is clouess, never held a real job, never demonstrated an ounce of reality in terms of understanding the economy.

Bro - do you not grasp why everyone but andre, strawm and the other morons are attacking you daily?
