Title: Can you imagine what it must feel like to win a Mr. Olympia?
Post by: Wiggs on October 31, 2011, 04:53:47 PM
That has gotta be an incredible feeling. Knowing that you are the best at what you do. Bodybuilding. And you will be among the greats, Arnold, Haney, Yates, Coleman, Oliva, Zane and more...You are among these gentlemen in your chosen sport.  I don't know about you but that lightens an inner fire and makes me continue to like bodybuilding despite its many faults.

Yet here you are: fat, unemployed and black. So far removed from the glory that is bestowed on those men. Might as well off yourself.

For me it's difficult to describe. I've loved this cultsport since I was 15 and I'm 32 now. For me I'd rather win an Olympia than win a Superbowl and as some of you know, I love football and played it on many levels...But the Olympia is different...It's art (well it used to be but I guess it still is in it's own little fucked up way) and you see the levels the human body can be pushed to with the best genetics, modern technology 8) ;D :D, hardwork and persistance.

The fact that Niggs is Black is a beautiful thing and should be a source of pride. After all, so is Mr. Olympia you imbecile.  ::)

The rest of the statements you make are undeniably true. Fat Albert needs to get it together.  ;D

You bring up a good point , it must be surreal to finally accomplish the pinnacle of bodybuilding. It reminds me of an article Muscle & Fitness did years ago about Gary Leonard and his take on just competing on the Olympia and placing 15th the guy just seemed happy to in the greatest contest in bodybuilding never mind winner

It's remarkable what Heath accomplished , turned pro in 06 and 6 years later he is the top of the food chain. Ronnie was the best because he NEVER ever believed he would win and when he did his emotion was moving , I was happy for the guy even though I was rooting for Flex

You can get a similar feeling if you are 6 years old and enter a Catholic seminary.

If I ask 100 persons in Holland who Ronnie Coleman is, the best bet is that zero of them know it. Everyone knows David Beckham or Usain Bolt or Venus Williams. Even those "strongest man" contests get TV coverage over here.
The only bodybuilders people know are Arnold and Louie.

go to a club with a lot of young kids at night and ask all the guys in the club who is ronnie coleman

really do it one time you have too much time on your hands on a friday night

they will know who is ronnie coleman even tho he was never on tv but they will not know zydrunas savicas or derek poundstone who are often on eurosport
