Why are Democrats so vehemently opposed to a balanced budget amendment? Why are they so against balancing the budget and reducing spending to pre-President Downgrade levels? Are these people really that addicted to spending money we don't have?

Because budget appropriations are more important than the health of the country, that goes for both sides, not just the dems.  Congress has been more concerned with politics rather than the people for decades nothing really new with this.

The entire system is completely broken and no one, republican or democrat, is willing to do what it takes to fix it.

But dumbfcck republicans are too dazed with "but we'vve GOT to maintain 1000 military bases and give billions to our pakistan allies each year" training to see it.
