Cottage cheese is nasty but I used to force myself to eat it because it is supposedly the best whole food source of protein - almost as good as a supplement. Borden Non Fat Cottage Cheese is the best. Last I checked you could find it at Super Target. In my opinion, cottage cheese tastes less gross when there is lower fat or no fat at all.

I'm with you; at least with some brands, the low/no fat version tastes better.
However, I think the fat aids with slowing the digestion and absorption, which is one of cottage cheese's benefits.

Agreed, and I've been doing this 10+ years- eating cottage cheese prior to bed.

I go to Costco and buy the 2lb tubs they have of Knudsen and I go through about 1/wk. I'd prefer to have another brand and/or have the full fat 4% from Clover (my personal favorite) but it is all they have at Costco and it's cheap.

If the taste really irks you, try adding yogurt to it, and with about 500 different flavors/kinds of yogurt on the shelves you can really find something to your liking. Watch the carb ratio if you're a lower carb guy like myself. I don't mind the cottage cheese plain/ by itself, so I just scoop it right from the 2lb Costco tub.
