Not sure if this has been posted, but this is comedy gold! GOP is on a roll, watch out Obama :o
-
why would he want to get rid of the department of education? Did I hear this right?
-
:-\ :-\ :-\
Perry wants to cut $100 billion in federal non-defense spending, and one-quarter of that would come from the U.S. Department of Education, according to his plan. (His plan doesn’t appear to put a target timeline for achieving the full $100 billion in savings.) He proposes slashing half of all funding for elementary and secondary programs, which he estimates will save $25 billion in the first year, and sending that money back to the states.
Frankly, given all the talk in the GOP field about eliminating the Education Department entirely, I’m surprised he’s going to let those programs keep half their money. Perry has been no fan of the Education Department of late.

Perry (and for that matter most teabaggers) are not the best example for the argument for less education

UM,,,,,, because it is useless. Thats why. You do know we have only had it for thirty years, right? Do you think education has gotten better or worse since then?

And only liberals make the completely false claim that eliminating one of the most wasteful and corrupt departments in government means anyone wants to get rid of education.
My mother has been a school teacher for 30+ years. She's been witness to more corruption, misappropriation of funding and criminal instances of embezzlement than I could care to even list. She was laughed at by her peers when she refused to spend the stimulus money that was appropriated to her district and she was laughed at again when she spoke out against the corruption. She's 100% for eliminating it, it's done far more harm than good for this country and she's been witness to it.
Anyone who supports keeping it in its present state is a lunatic.

Nah, I had to take those courses. You are confused. If I had a BA in business, I would have been able to pre-req out of some of those courses. however, since I had a degree in education,, I was required to take all of the classes at the graduate level. 60 hours total I believe.
LOL @ you being sore that your homestate hero perry ended up being an 80 IQ drunkard, and tackling me for my masters degree in return. LOLzer.
