hahahahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa a!!!
Just before Mitt Romney left the Massachusetts governor’s office and first ran for president, 11 of his top aides purchased their state-issued computer hard drives, and the Romney administration’s e-mails were all wiped from a server, according to interviews and records obtained by the Globe.
Romney administration officials had the remaining computers in the governor’s office replaced just before Governor Deval Patrick’s staff showed up to take power in January 2007, according to Mark Reilly, Patrick’s chief legal counsel.
As a result, Patrick’s office, which has been bombarded with inquiries for records from the Romney era, has no electronic record of any Romney administration e-mails, Reilly said.

“The governor’s office has found no e-mails from 2002-2006 in our possession,’’ Reilly said in a statement. “Before the current administration took office, the computers used during that time period were replaced and the server used during that time period was taken out of service, all files were removed from it, and it was also replaced.’’

@woodhouseb Just imagine if Nixon had been able to buy the WH taping system & walk out with it
Imagine if the white house 'accidentally' deletes all emails before the 2012 election.

Where are obamas records again?

Where are obamas records again?
his email records?
or are you trying to say his records as a private citizen/student are the same as the taxpayer-owned emails that romney deleted? ;)
LOL at you, using obama to defend every bad things repubs do.
-
I actually most likely what was on them would hurt him more with Repubs than be used against him by the Dems.

His state senate record.

His state senate record.
pretty shameful if he deleted emails from that. link?
-
Is this like the Palin thing where there were supposed to be damaging e-mails? I wonder if the liberal media is going to hire people to review these as well.
-
I would think everyone would delete their emails... I delete them when I leave a company.
This is nothing.
Every CEO, CIO, Director, and almost every employee deletes their emails when they leave (or copy them off to a drive and then delete them)
This is very very normal and since you don't retain emails on backup service forever, it makes perfect sense that they can't find them.
Add to that it's from 2002 - 2006 when there was no mandate to save emails that long (most likely) and you have a mountain out of a mole hill.

theyu're public record, just like a teacher email account. if youre a state employee, what you write is state property.

Uh... No.
At that time, there was no criteria for retention of email... Also, Trust me... I've been a state employee... They are not public record or state properly any more than your email at work is work property.
There is no expectation of privacy, but you are empowered to do what you feel is the best thing to do with them.
Let's add to that.
Had he retained those 4 years of emails, the constituents of that state would STILL be paying for the cost to maintain those records even today.
Why would anyone want to pay to house 4 years of emails for no good reason?
-
??? teacher emails are FOIA'd all the time in FL, as are other agencies.
-
Since when?
A lot of things have changed regarding policies for government since 2006.
Also, that doesn't mean that a teacher is not empowered to delete their email.
