Title: does anybody remember the austin idol mark lewin feuds?

back in the days of georgia championship wrestling,thought they were pretty cool,lewin used to put idol in his sleeper hold and idol would be foaming at the mouth,who was mark lewins manager back then?

Lewin was great and could get over anywhere as heel or baby face.  He was managed by a few different guys during his career : Skandar Akbar,  The Great Mephisto,  Gary Hart to name a few but I'm not sure who it was in Georgia.

I remember Austin Idol feuding with Mr. Wrestling II but that was when I first started watching, so the Lewin-Idol may have been just before that.

yeah,i remember idol having a lot of feuds in georgia,wrestling 2,tommy rich,even ric flair at one point.

I have fond memories of the "pier six brawls" that took place with Gordon Solie's inimitable reporting...

"Mr. Wrestling II is on the scene!!"

Gordon was actually the originator of the "oh brother!"  As in "Oh brother, did he catch him with that one!"

I'm just curious: what was it about pier-6?

Why didn't shit ever happen on pier-5 or 4?

Pier 6 was in the black section of the boardwalk, I would imagine.   :-X

and what was that they used to call catch as catch can style wrestling if i am sayin it right.
