ridiculous size for a TV, while people have no jobs and are getting laid off, they distract you with that crap, people can't afford, it, this is pure comedy that they are releasing this crap, it is only for the rich and dumb who would waste most of their money on a TV.

5,000 dollars for a television, who needs a 80 inch television LOL, just buy a nice 30 or 40 inch one for 200 - 1000 dollars and that is plenty big enough for anyone.  They keep creating things we don't need and people keep buying them, so stupid.

It is an entertainment expense dude.  If you love sports like Football then what better way to enjoy it.  Cheaper in the long run than going out to bars to watch.  I agree that most things are not needed that people have but a TV is a huge part of everyones lives so I can see why having such a nice TV would be justifiable as an affordable luxury.  I don't go out much because I don't have many friends since I weigh over 400 pounds at 42 years old and wear glasses.  I live in my moms basement as well but it's all good.  I use my 42" LED for my Xbox my mom got me.  I am going to show her this TV and hope she can get it for me.

Shit thats expensive. I paid only 360 for my 42" although it was on sale and a great deal. I would never pay 2,500 for a stupid tv.

why do you need anything bigger than 42 inch?  How far away are you sitting from your television?  10 years ago this discussion would seem insane lol.  Were are you going to stop, I want a 100 inch tv, soon it will be like bringing a mattress in the house trying to fit it in through the doorway lol, bigger is not always better for television.

A common theme with you is that you feel you need to dictate what's appropriate for individuals rather than letting them decide for themselves.  You have no idea what someone needs or doesn't.  The market will dictate whether or not people need/want something.

If someone wants a TV of that size and can afford it, there's no issue.

If someone wants your wife, daughter, and can get her, them, they can get them before your eyes, right?
If someone wants to kill you, and can, then you die.

Just because you can doesnt mean you should. That's something atheists have a hard time to understand having abandonned God's words and being raised by single moms without any or too few father , maculine figures. Very soon, this mentality will show what it is capable of pushed to the extremes.

Just because you can doesnt mean you should. It's basic common sense , but to some obviously it isnt anymore.

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a 65 inch Samsung plasma/1080/3D/HDTV from Bestbuy. But I heard that TV's will go down in price even more after Christmas. Right now these style TV's are from $1500-$3,000 or more, dependent on brand and such. I'm also hesitant because 3D seems pretty new and dont wanna get stuck with a product that will be better in a year or two.

42" - 55" is a good range with affordable pricing.

GET THIS ONE! It's only $125,000.

But the newest thing among the Hollywood elite is the combination of such screens as shown below with the computer program that shows a part of the of the broadcast on each screen so that you get one huge display on the four to six screens.

I've seen a few of these in the finer LV casinos and from what I've been hearing some of the rich folks are adding them to their in-home theaters along with their theater syle popcorn machines and chairs that movie according to what is shown on the screen.

Watch a football game and you leave with bruises according to one family member.;

to the people advocating wasting your money on a TV that will be obsolete in a year, you always criticize black people for the things they spend their money on, is this not hypocrisy?

That's why I got an LED with Full Array and backlit dimming...best of the bunch.  if you're gonna drop over a grand on a TV...don't penny pinch, spend an extra 150 for the good shit. and yes...I'm aware that there will be a TV that smokes mine on the market in 6 weeks, but I really don't give a fuck...the thing has a great picture....I'm not the type that goes broke because he HAS to have the latest greatest at all times...I'll have this TV for years. And on top of it...it wasn't even for me...my GF has been busting for a new TV for a year so I said "fuck it" and got it for her...me, I could give a shit...I hardly ever watch TV anyway...Doesn't matter how awesome your TV is...most shows suck, no matter how big the screen...it's just bigger "suck"

You really seem to take pleasure in telling us shit anyone here with half a brain already knows.... "planned obsolescence" isn't exactly a new concept, and you know that going in.

I can say this..the TV I just got rid of, a Sony 52" XBR4 ....ran without a hitch for 4 years and was working perfectly when I sold it to defer the cost of the new one. if you look at any big ticket entertainment item as an investment, you're an idiot...it's an expense, chalk it up to "standard of living". I like mine high  8)

Now cars..that's a different story. you won't catch me dead rolling off a showroom floor in a new car, can't justify the ass-pounding you take as soon as they hand you the keys.  I'm lucky though...I have a GOOD friend who owns multiple car lots in AZ and I get late-model cars for peanuts. I also buy cars for him as a side venture that is working out quite nicely

I have an LED TV and am happy with it. I was talking to some Geek Squad guys though and they said they all had Plasmas. I'm not real versed on all the ins and outs, but he basically said they had a better picture quality and the problems they had years ago are gone.
