Just a rant:
These two left-wing talking points annoy the shit out of me. We need "shared sacrifice," so let's raise taxes and cut spending. We should focus on "being balanced" and raising taxes while cutting spending.
What BULLSHIT.
Here's an idea for "shared sacrifice:" let's cut spending on welfare for the poor as well as welfare for the rich!
And what about "being balanced?" Again, let's be balanced about what we cut, especially in light of econometric studies which have proven that spending cuts are a better way to balance budgets than tax hikes (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303823104576391331356123692.html).
