Not quite so true anymore. The Japanese still think the Chinese are apes and lack refinement (and they'd be right), and the Chinese, whilst never forgetting what happened during the war, look up to Japan these days and take a lot of Japan's popular culture as cues for their own pop culture development.

My dad was half of each - how fucked up do think things got in my family?
