IFBB PROFESSIONAL LEAGUE ANNOUNCES MEDICAL BENEFITS FOR MEMBERS
IFBB Pro League announced today an agreement with McLean Hospital, part of Harvard Medical School, to provide medical benefits for its members.
McLean Hospital will conduct complete comprehensive yearly physicals for all
IFBB Pro League athletes. This is an unprecedented step in the healthcare of professional bodybuilding athletes.
Bob Cicherillo, (IFBB Athlete's Representative) states, “The main part of any show or competition is the athletes. Without them, there is no event. We must concern ourselves with the health of the athletes to not only insure the longevity of the athlete, but also of the sport.
What precipitated this action by the IFBB is the number of untimely deaths and severe medical problems that has beset the sport the past 24 months.
Cicherillo goes on to say, “Three top male athletes have needed kidney transplants over a two year time span. Something has to be done. Heart attacks and bypass surgery become all too common. Athletes under the age of 40 are suffering strokes. Something has to be done and we will be doing it.”
“We are taking a bold step in order to detect problems early, with the desired result being to save lives. We all know that early detection with any medical problem gives the best possible chance to defeat the problem. We are looking to give our athletes that fighting chance.”
“We also know that this is a benefit for all athletes, whether they live in the U.S. or not. We want to do something in the medical area for all athletes that participate in our shows.”
Any questions or comments should be directed to IFBB Pro League via email at ifbbproleague@aol.com

Hmm. McLean Hospital is a loony bin. 'Course, Robert Lowell was known to easily incline bench 315. Sylvia Plath was also known for her impressive snatch.

me too,,but it's hard to argue beckles conditioning well into 50's was awesome, great arms and peaks there.guy was a gamer.
-
I never saw a pic of Beccles when he was not in great shape, unlike the pics of some of the guys we see these days.
-
i liked arnolds, simply because of the ridiculous biceps and wide upperbody.
this guy's aesthetics are amazing though, if he had a 2 inch smaller waist it would be perfection
-
:o
100% agree.

Not sure Doc ???
Aren`t they a protectorate or part of the British Islands?
I know jack shit about geography but know a lot about everything else under the sun! ;D
-
These old pics totally blow away the current blobs of oil. :(
-
milos from 1991 through 1997 must have done 60 or so show's ,,he competed a lot then and his conditioning was spot on most of the time.getting bigger was harder due to dieting so much.but he filled out pretty good over the time period there.
-
When I get all faggy and excited about bodybuilding it's physiques like these that I think about.
All the same drugs but not at a ridiculous dose and pace. Little to no oil in these guys either. This is bodybuilding the way I see it.
-

I don’t think there is a more complete teaching tool on the subject of fitness and nutrition out on the market than what GetBig reveal. When you start setting goals for your future the first thing you do is select someone to help you get there that is well qualified in the field you’ve selected, health and fitness are no exception; you need the best in the business if you’re serious about achieving the best results. A GetBig program will enable you to reach every goal. You will feel good and look forward to many more years of added success. Following a program is perfect for anyone wanting the very best of health and fitness, taught by the very best in the business, regardless of your age. There is so much information out there about health and fitness and some of it can be very misleading. Nothing gives results like perseverance, combined with accurate knowledge like one gets from Getbig. I recommend it without hesitation to my friends and family, and continue to do so.
But what I love most is the very informative forum. I was hopelessly overweight and quite down on myself. I wasted so much money on fat loss pills and creams, I think I must have tried every diet in the universe. I did lose weight, a few pounds here and there I was a classic yo–yo dieter but I always gained it back and more. I feel so glad, I finally found a program on here, what it’s done for me is something I can’t put into words. So many forums are full of trolls/hecklers but there is a great atmosphere here, everybody is keen to help each other and there’s a lot of fun to be had also in the gossip, humour threads where people relax and talk a bit of nonsense. You really get to know the regulars and the moderators/regulars have a wide experience in different types of lifting so there is always someone who can help talking from experience. People also respect each other, there are no stupid mean remarks.

the info on this forum, really gh15's posts, help you to understand the idea behind body composition, it helps u to understand how the body works better, from there you can figure a lot of thing sout

No shit! why wouldnt he just take the photos barefoot? Those are the ugliest shoes I have ever seen. look like womens shoes. WTF. he couldnt afford anything better I never recalling shoes like that being a style. He bought those at the goodwill or found them in a trash can. as far as this clairmonte he needed a buzz cutt and it would have gave hima lokk of holding more muscle the curly buffont needed to go
-

6"2 , looks awesome

I'll be like that when I grow up
-
There are some even better Clairmont pics out there. I can't find em' but I've seen em. They are in B and W. They were in some kind of MM publication. His abs were just sick. None like I'd ever seen.
If I can find the pics I'll scan em and post up.
That's why I always ask: What does he look like today?

Charles was way underated.

Clairmonte was decent but had no chest or lats to speak of. He was a poor mans Milos Sarcev and once Milos came to prominence Clairmonte deservedly faded away. He was pretty good though. Pretty good....

Haha I am and was a huge Clairmonte fan. I get to stir the pot too! FWIW I still have an old Flex where he went into biceps training (was his best bodypart) and it was standing alternate curls, incline db curls and ez bar preachers. Not groundbreaking per se, but did the job (for him). Ah the good ol days. Now everyone wants to shoot esiclene and synthol and do cable everythings to get big. Where have the good days gone eh?
