Title: Dealing with dry, itchy skin
Post by: Boost on December 04, 2011, 03:09:47 PM
Winter months bring cool, dry air. Humidity declines, I start to scratch  :'(

How do I combat dry, itchy skin, flaky scalp, chapped lips...etc.

Specific foods? Skin care products?

Care for it IN and OUT...

1)  Eat fatty fish 2X a week, Salmon, Mackerel, Sardines with either a baked Yam, or brown rice.
2)  ALWAYS take 4 capsules of Cod Liver Oil every single day.
3)  Being bodybuilders, we shower more often, so use ONLY Dove soap- I live in Cold, dry CANADA and my skin is nice!!! ;D

My back itches a lot I notice. I shave it once a week with the "mangroomer" no homo and when I start to break a sweat and get warmed up the middle of my back itches like hell. I put lotion on everytime I get out of the shower but I can't reach back there.

Don't take overly hot showers, and put lotion on after you get out of the shower when your skin is still moist.  I deal with it every year.

Use "eucerin" brand calming shower oil and calming cream lotion after you shower.

Take warm not hot showers.

Only shower the parts of your body that sweat everyday. Shower everything else eod.

Use carmex for your dry lips.

And up your fish oil intake!

This should help.
