I hope this "disease" doesn't spread to Africa...Thankfully we always lag a bit behind on the "latest fitness trends"

They bounce up again when dropped to the floor. I'd say 1 lb each..

I guess a max of 5 kg(11lbs) - like white olympic plates. Black ones are 2.5 kg but I don't know if they aren't of smaller diameter.

I'm too lazy to figure out the loading, but it was something like #85 for the women, #155 for the men. The axle is thin and hollow and weighs about #15lbs, so you can figure the bumpers from there.

Where do these idiots come up with this circus crap!

They're trying to find something to do that makes them stand out physically in some way, shape, or form by doing something--anything-- that others don't do.

To have the strength of a Magnus Samuelsson or the looks of a Steve Reeves are about one in 100,000,000.
The odds are against even standing out amongst those that can bench 405 lbs or those with fairly decent physique genetics.

These people's mindset is that if they throw in enough variables they will be unique. I'll be the only guy who can balance on a ball while doing a one arm lift with a kettlebell. I'll also shave my head to stand out.  A lot of people have the potential to do what this guy is doing much better than he is doing it. However, how many people will spend the time or even care enough to balance on a ball while doing a 1 arm kettlebell lift?
He feels like he is unique.

This is no different than an average to bad looking high school kid piercing, getting tattoos, dying his hair green, etc... to stand out.
