It's the 70th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, and across the internet, the right wing is commemorating this world-historical event the only way it knows how: by insinuating bizarre things about the Obamas.
See, Sidwell Friends, the private school attended by Sasha and Malia Obama, is serving an "Asian" menu for lunch today, featuring teriyaki chicken and roasted edamame (as well as "oriental noodle salad" and fortune cookies). The school—which hires a subcontractor that assigns menus randomly—says it's "completely coincidental." Hmmm.
Now, I'm something of an amateur historian, and after doing a little bit of research I've uncovered a great deal of evidence that the U.S. is not actually at war with Japan anymore, and also that, who on earth gives a shit what the Obama kids eat for lunch? But let me answer my own question! Right wing trolls give a shit. "'Random'? 'Coincidental'? MY ASS!!!" writes "Nachum" on this delightful Free Republic thread.
