'American Psycho' Remake Being Prepped by Lionsgate
Patrick Bateman will be back to menace the populace once again.
Lionsgate is working on a remake of the 2000 film "American Psycho," which was based on the Bret Easton Ellis novel of the same name, an individual with knowledge of the project confirmed to TheWrap.
No word on who will inherit the role of unhinged yuppie Bateman from Christian Bale. Lionsgate has, however, tapped Noble Jones -- who served as a second unit director on 2010's "The Social Network -- to pen and direct the revamp.
The do-over will place Bateman in modern-day New York City -- so, lamentably, he won't be extolling the virtues of Huey Lewis and the News while he spreads carnage this time around. (Maybe he'll be a Nickelback fan instead? Seems about right.)
The original film was directed by Mary Harron and, in addition to Bale as the titular serial killer, starred Willem Dafoe, Reese Witherspoon, Chloe Sevigny and Jared Leto.

Just another terrible remake of a great film.
Can`t these fucks find an original premise instead of fucking up classics?

Can`t wait.
::)
I can understand if it came out in the 60s or before. But it came out less than 12 years ago and isn't dated in any way. They'll just make it more PC.
Maybe they'll remake Avatar too, it was released 2 years ago after all.
-
I never bothered to watch #2 because I just knew it would pale by comparison. :(

Exactly, once they make a ton of cash on a big hit, they make part2,3,4,5,+6 which suck just wanting to cash in on the rep of the first film.
I usually avoid the sequels unless I hear that it was great or something.

And now they are all stupid ass remakes. >:( You cannot remake classics like, "Jaws", "Indiana Jones" films, Conan films,..etc.

The only thing i want with "Jaws" is just put it on Blu-Ray and i will pay any price for "Jaws" on Blu-Ray. 8) I am not sure what Speilberg has against Blu-Ray.

Worst than being dated, I think it was ahead of its time, has a lot more meaning to people now rather than ten years ago.
Seriously what the fuck is wrong with hollywood, they're starting to get very bollywoodish(extremely ironic).
Just look as all the biggest blockbusters pre 2000's they were all rated R films, now they are all G films, considering white folk have given up on having children, you'd think it'd be the total opposite.

Great fucking movie.........."Henry Portrait Of A Serial Killer" is a good one too.

the only thing that needs to be changed about american psycho is the line where Bateman is complemented on looking good and he replies.."you can always be thinner." It need to be replaced with, "you can always be leaner." 8)

henry.... i think i saw this movie when i was a kid
is it what seems like a cheap crappy movie about a guy who goes out killing people randomly and putting them in garbage bags next to the high way?
cant remember much details i was a child when i saw it
-
Dear Jews and homos that run Hollywood
You know, not to make this about me but I'm the true product of what Patrick Bateman really was (i'm not talking about the gay shit he did btw)
fact of the matter is that I'm a vain, douchebag with no friends who abhors women
Therefore, this movie can't be made without me being cast as the lead
I will take payment in the form or Euros or POGS
thank you

actually they could make it great if instead of a wallstreet broker, the psycho would be a coke snorting hollywood producer, and instead of prostitutes he slaughters famous movie titles
