Ah, the times when men were men and women knew their place...of course, these films are from the early 1960s, a time when men were still manly...
"Men talk"(Slap)

Too good to be true - just classic.
Bond is the condensed version of what women like for fucking.
-
HAHa, Bond is a man with sum' high test levels for sure 8)
-
Bond also dallied with women, not 16-year-olds.
-
triple A Aplha male

I have a mother, sisters, and nieces I love dearly so it is hard for me to romanticize a time (1960’s) when women were treated like animals, blacks were just a cut above slaves, and gays and lesbians were demonized as pedophiles, but for what they were the Bond films were certainly entertaining. In one film, with a straight face, a character introduced herself with the line, “...my name is Pussy Galore.” Really. ::)
Thank god the world has changed. And Bond has changed with it.
Check out this biography of Bond arch enemy Ernst Blofeld. At one point he is described as a body builder. “His physical stature is frequently changing, due to his obsession with changing identities. In the novels, he was described as once a bodybuilder to which became nothing but fat towards his later years, even though he was still described as a tall, heavy man with a crew cut and dark pool eyes..."

The first film I ever saw in the theatre was a James Bond film so this franchise has a special place in my heart. :)

Sean Connery, best Bond ever. The man personified what it meant to be James Bond.

sure he was a great actor and a proper bloke I agree, but for a Bond film the Casino Royale is the best.
-
holy crap, 007 slapped a lot of women.

don't forget Roger Moore....he's the second most popular Bond too. he did carry the role pretty well......these two made the most Bond films........

connery may be a better embodiment of the novel bond but rogers deliverance and movies as a whole were far more entertaining imo.

That's part of the franchise problem. You want a spy who tells jokes and looks good in a suit, with increasingly silly plots (Moore), or do you want someone to smash the guy in the face if he looks at you funny, and get shit done (Connery). ;)

I grew up with Roger Moore as my Bond; he remains my favorite. 8)
Check out the pre title sequence in For Your Eyes Only when he finally dispatches Blofeld
"...oh, you want to go down?"
"Mr. Booooooooooond!"
I love it! ;D
The Moore films were increasingly cartoonish (and they were appropriately criticized for it) but that had to do with the scripts and the writers--not Moore. Craig has brought new life to the role. I was dubious, but landing him was great casting.

Really, the problem was that it was too campy...Jason Bourne is the true embodiment of what Bond would be in the real world...not all these hot females, and one liners...Bond was true 60s campy, and corny...the only thing I liked were the one liners and "Oh Pussy..."
true Brit humor...
And Bond sure did slap a lot women thru-out the films...

the new bonds are terrible cheese.
the old ones are good. Bourne is a very cool series.... when's part 4 coming out, and who is in it?
-
the Bourne films are great, but too bad matt Damon will not be in the next Bourne movie (The Bourne Legacy 2012) due out next year....that's too bad
matt damon said his Director bail out of the next movie, so he had no choice but to step out as well........I hope the next bourne is good with this new actor

hahahhahahahha LOL we are such male chauvinist pigs... ;D
-
epic chest hair
monster arms
terrible shoulder to waist ratio
-
The man gets endless amounts of pussy and never put the pussy on the pedestal. The younger generation should take note...Barber Walters fucked commies and black dudes and other women. She can fuck off completely...

yes, you can go both directions, as both were successful. bond to someone like me who grew up with those two is supposed to have a certain larger than life charm and blend in with a sofisticated setting, in exotic environments. he should be believable in getting all the women.
right now were back to the "rougher" bond with Craig, but he isn't quite as charming and suave like the older bonds i'm afraid. he's good though don't get me wrong.
and speaking of bourne being some sort of modern equivalent... jason bourne is not about getting women and being charmingly douchy like bond. the bourne movies is neither about a colorful evil main villain and gadgetery. in fact, i don't know why they are constantly being compared at all.. ???

x2. No comparison to be made there. Silly to even go there.

Matt Damon had made a comment on it, I think he was asked a question--/and he answered that Jason Bourne is more realistic...The bond films are campy, the whole spy thing, with all of the women---it was one of those fantasies that little boys in the 60s were told...Realistically, Bond wouldn't get all the girls, and remember when he married one, she was shot...
He was Dapper, but that's it, and where it ended. He was neither charming either, what with the women going "Oh, James!" and them being so helpless that they needed help tying their shoes...it was something for young men to want to dream about...going up against bad guys and the sexy women that worked for him...saving a helpless dumb woman, who always gets in over her head...I mean the formula is the same for almost all of the 60s-70s films...

And now the kids have superstars like Seth Rogan to look up to ::) How we've progressed! Guess anyone can be the big hero these days :D

Yes good formula. Its romantism as opposed to realism, a reality escape. Bond should pertain to boys fantasies as modern romcoms with aston kutcher is little girls dreams.

jason statham should be the new bond!!!
