http://www.weeklystandard.com/articles/company-ron-paul-keeps_613474.html
The article is from the Weekly Standard but from an author from the New Republic. I'm sure you RP bots will attack the messenger but old RP has some skeletons and if you had issues with Barry and his associations...then you should equally have issues with this. This stuff has been around for awhile and a reason among many that RP is dismissed. I'm also sure a reason why the libs will back or push him for the nomination
From page 3
In a March 2009 interview, Paul entertained Jones’s claim that NORTHCOM, the U.S. military’s combatant command for North America, is “taking over” the country. “The average member of Congress probably isn’t a participant in the grand conspiracy,” Paul reassured the fevered host, essentially acknowledging that such a conspiracy exists. “We need to take out the CIA.” On Paul’s latest appearance on the Jones show, just last week, he called allegations that Iran had attempted to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the United States a “propaganda stunt” of the Obama administration. In a January 2010 speech, Paul announced, “There’s been a coup, have you heard? It’s the CIA coup” against the American government. “They’re in businesses, in drug businesses,” the congressman added.
Likewise, Paul’s insistence that America should be a “friend” of Israel is belied by public statements like one from a November 22 GOP debate: “Why do we have this automatic commitment that we’re going to send our kids and send our money endlessly to Israel?” This is an echo of Pat Buchanan’s 1990 claim that if the United States went to war against Saddam Hussein it would be on behalf of Israel, and that “kids with names like McAllister, Murphy, Gonzales, and Leroy Brown” would be the ones doing the fighting and dying. The assertion that American soldiers are risking their lives to protect Israel and not the United States is as false today as it was two decades ago.
Last, Paul continues to be the favorite candidate of those who believe that the United States either orchestrated the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, or allowed them to happen in order to create the pretext for wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. It’s not hard to understand why. In a December 9 speech to supporters in Iowa, Paul had this to say: “Just think of what happened after 9/11. Immediately before there was any assessment there was glee in the administration because now we can invade Iraq.”
Paul’s more mainstream supporters have always explained away his popularity with 9/11 “Truthers” as an unfortunate consequence of his altruistic, if at times naïve, libertarian ethos: The man just loves freedom so much that he’s loath to turn away backers who may think differently from him. To anyone who bothers to look into Ron Paul’s record, that claim is simply not credible
-
ROn Paul supports letting israel bomb the hell out of iran, eliminating them as a threat. What's wrong with that?
and the official 911 commission report has been called a whitewash - by the guys who wrote it. I dont know why you're defending that lemon of a story - even the poeple who wrote it don't defend it. And RP isn't a truther, they support him because he admits there are some legit Qs about the attaacks that were neer answered.
-
The guy goes on CT radio shows...I have an issue with tha. I have an issue with a guy that says what he says about blacks and jews and how he really feels about America. Oddly RP decided this time around to promote his service in the military, like we're suddenly going to forget that he wants to slash it by half....something he can't do but he can do alot of damage regardless on that front. Everything this guy wants to do has to go through Congress. They won't play ball with him on alot of it. I don't see the GOP allowing him to get the nomination. He's done better playing the game this time around but they still think he's nuts. I also have a huge problme with libs who side with him. Kinda like republicans who voted for Obama.
-
Yes, he goes on CT radio shows because the listenerd are very politically interested, many have good money, and they vote - Ron Paul could win the nomination because "the crazies" come out to support him.
Also, what is your huge prob with libs that support him? Isn't that a GOOD thing? You can rest assured - a TON of obama voters are going to disappear and vote ron paul.
and yes, congress is going to tie his hands, and he won't get everything done that he wants - but he will cut spending, and the repub congress will back him a lot of it domestically.
hh6, i know you dislike ron paul because he entertains crazy theories - but some of them aren't so crazy. Gulf of tonken was a "middle mgmt error", we learned 40 years later - they never attacked us. 911 - sorry bro, but a lot of things happened besides 19 jackasses with blades - to let that day happen. It sucks, ,but it's true. Ron Paul doesn't take the "ahem, that's nonsense, everyone knows that" line that both repubs and dems are trained to take.
There are legit qs about 911 - the deaths of 3000 people - that nobody wants ot look at. Valid Qs - and that's what the 911 commissioners tell us. It's a scary world, it's a weird thing when the 'alternative media' wants to ask Qs that the corporate media will not. Ron paul's rise is VERY MUCH a reflection of the fact that 1/4 of americans are conspiracy theorists... that 1/4 of americans believe the corporate media is full of shit, etc.
If you want to defeat ron paul, tell the other jackasses in the race to start being honest. RP is the result of tehse assholes lying to us so long that we're willing to risk voting on a quesiton mark because everyone else is more repulsive.
-

The fact that his newsletter called out liberal jews and blacks is a plus to me. ;D ;D ;D
-
I'm not saying RP has all the answers, and I dont konw if his foreign policy ideas even work.
But I do know that he appears to be the most honest one in the race. He seems genuine and the rest of them seem like slimy phonies..
Maybe you can call mitt and tell him to stop looking like a sleazy dipshit. newt, stop grinning at how smart you are, and maybe tell us why you broke america for 30 years and now you can fix it. bachmann - gets your damn facts right, please!
Ron paul is Huck 2008.... he appears to be calm, honest, humble, and interested in being honest with ppl. His rise is a result of the piles of lies and bullshit that, frankly, is insulting. We're tired of lies, and we'll support an honest fool over a lying wise man.
-
LOL, what a fail of an article. So he goes on radio shows hosted by conspiracy theorists - who cares? Would you not go on the Alex Jones show if he wanted to interview you? It's about gaining publicity. And some of his supporters are conspiracy theorists - who cares? What matters are the policies and ideas that Ron Paul espouses.
And regarding "racist" allegations - are you really going to make those about a man who has pictures of two Jews (Ludwig von Mises and Murray Rothbard) framed and on the wall in his office? Are you really going to make those allegations about the ONLY candidate who has expressed that people should be treated as individuals, not groups or collectives like blacks, gays, straights, whites, men, women, etc.? Are you really going to launch those claims against someone who wants to eventually bring about free and open immigration?
Irony is the people who want to bomb brown people halfway across the world calling the guy who disagrees with them "racist."
-
Someone who calls out communist jews and far leftist blacks will get my $$$ and time.
-
Remember that "Obama Deception" that so many of you loved?
that was made by the same alex jones. AJ also shit on clinton for the OK City lies around that bombing. AJ shit on bush for letting 911 happen. And AJ shit on Obama for all his lies and crimes. ANd he'll do it to President Ron Paul too, no doubt about it.
-
I am sure that some if not many powerful and influential Jews will do everything they can to keep Ron Paul from becoming president, because "Paul opposes foreign aid to all countries, including the Jewish state."
-

Yeah.....your guy has issues that can't be overcome. His foreign policy is batshit crazy and if he got the nomination, no amount of pictures on the wall or any other crap will help him win over Obama. Those brown people halfway across the world hate us and want to kill us.
-
Vote your heart in the primary
A B O in the General Election
-
Regarding the racist newsletters - I do think they're troubling. But when you look at them in the context of Ron Paul's political career, associates such as Murray Rothbard, and long-stated political beliefs they stick out like a sore thumb. Someone who has consistently advocated for individual rights and allowing more non-white immigrants into the country is not a racist.
If anything, the media ought to be making noise about Ron Paul's association with anarchists like Lew Rockwell and Murray Rothbard. But doing so would distract from the "he's a racist" message, considering that those anarchists he's associated with were strict individualists.
-

Your definition of batshit crazy: Being against spending trillions of dollars on wars overseas that don't serve US interests.
-
Didn't ron paul used to provide free medical care to poor african americans? And while working in congress for 10 terms, he served the interests of poor & minorities pretty damn well?
And this was a newsletter that he has been saying for 20 years that he didn't write.
What are your alternatives?
Mitt - who knows where he stands on anything.
Newt - Created the mess we have for 30 years, and now wants to fix it?
Everyone else has no ground game or money to win anything.
Mitt, RP, or Newt. Choose the best option here. Who is it?
-

No, don't you know? He's against Medicaid. That's considered racist by the left-wing media - and all the "conservatives" seeking to discredit Ron Paul any way possible.
-

Medicaid is another disaster against the taxpayer. Obamacare's gross expansion of medicaid will collapse most state budgets.
-
Here's a thought...
Obama stands a decent chance against newt (women hate him) and Mitt (far-right repubs hate him). Obama can start a war or other things, or just plain cheat, to keep his job.
Ron Paul is fine with women. He's fine with far-right, hell, he is the original tea party canddiate, 20 years ago before it was popular. And most important of all - - Ron paul will SUCK AWAY some of that built-in, anti-war, pro-drug, whatever chunk of that 45% that Obama gets automatically.
Ron Paul will pull some of those votes. I know a few libs who voted obama who love ron paul. Do you?
-

Going on the Alex Jones show does not help one bit. That kind of stuff kills his credibility. He gave 911 Troofers the stiff arm in 2008. He should have done so more forcefully this time around, instead of essentially embracing those nuts by going on that kook's show.
-

was alex jones wrong about all the things he said about obama and his destructive economic policies?
or do you just disagree with AJ some of the time?
-

::) Alex Jones is a nutbag. I could care less if he was lucky enough to predict anything. Any politician trying to be elected president who gives that guy any legitimacy whatsoever is killing his chances of winning. The only reason it hasn't come up in the debates is Ron Paul has as much chance as winning as Huntsman.
We all know what happens when that 911 garbage gets into the mainstream media: ridicule. Van Jones is a prime example.
-
BWHAHAHAhahahaha!!!!!!!!! William Kristol's shitrag?
Look at Team Neocon referencing the elite neoconservative magazine against Ron Paul... LOL... I think it's safe to say we all know the enemy of the neoconservative creature is Ron Paul.
Thanks Captain Obvious, run along now and finish up your plans to conquer the known universe ::)

After GWB / BO - I think people are looking for anything but these corporately owned NWO psychotic nuts.
amd yes - GWB was and is a psycho. BO is a direct result of GWB's malfeasance in office.
-
Did u see what I said idiot....an article run in a conservative mag....by an author of the liberal magazine.
-
::) Alex Jones is a nutbag.
333386 believes that AJ was very accurate in his coverage of Obama's rise, present, and plans in the white house.
Are you saying 333 is a nutbag?

Mitt Romney did a lot of interviews with shitbag liberal hosts.
Did that kill his credibility with far-right tea party types?
-
Everyone else does - so why not?
;D
33, I think if you saw the mountain of evidence that AJones showed - all skinny and young in the late 90s, talking aobut the OKCity inside job and how Holder covered up everything - you'd probably believe he was very accurate in the 90s, and very accurate from 2009 on.
AJones ripped bill clinton nonstop for all his lies and crimes.
-

Waco, OKC, and Ruby Ridge turned me into a CT'er to be honest. Ever since then I have not trsuted a damn thing from anyone.
-
It doesn't make you a CT'er to know that the Left hates the 2nd Amendment and the ATF is out of control.
-
Waco, OKC, and Ruby Ridge turned me into a CT'er to be honest. Ever since then I have not trsuted a damn thing from anyone.
I agree with you there - seeing that Ryder Truck on an army base right before the attack? wow.
SO to be clear - the only CT belief that alex jones and you DO NOT share is 9/11, correct? You believe pres clinton and holder let 168 americans die in OKC, you believe that Obama is intentionally collapsing the economy - you guys believe all that...
But you don't believe AJ when it comes to 911 - correct? He somehow spend 8 years studying everything about that - and he got that part wrong Right, buddy?
-
Just looking through the guest list of people who have gone on with Alex Jones, it's a long list.
Bill Kristol LOLOLOLOLOL The company Kristol keeps, he's been on with Alex Jones lolol
John McCain
Lary King
Donald Trump
Chuck Norris
Neil Cavuto
wolf Blitzer
Glenn Beck
Lou Dobbs
and a good list of other active members in congress both dem and rep...

Wow.... Mccain went on Alex Jones, huh?
-
Did u see what I said idiot....an article run in a conservative mag....by an author of the liberal magazine.
what the hell difference does that make? That fact makes it worse lol!!!! Of course there are libs that are after Paul and look what magazine is promoting the article, the neocon rag.
-
LOL. There is a lot more direct evidence in those CT's vs 911 ct
Actually - Alex jones has spent the last decade focused on 911. He has interviewed many guests from many field, govt insiders, and scientists - and he has reached a conclusion that is differnt from yours.
Just say, for the record, "I, 333386, believe I know more about the events of 911 than Alex Jones".
Say it so we can laugh. :D
-
What do you think about this, BB?
Wow.... Mccain went on Alex Jones, huh?
He's had on a shitload of people in Congress. It's usually over the phone and like 10 to 20 minutes of questions and answers, exactly the same as with Paul. And Ron Paul doesn't say anything different on Alex Jones than he has said in other places. BB might not like it but his show is really pretty big now.
-

I think people ought to run screaming from Alex Jones. Ct's can't be proven, thats the whole point. As far as "that Ryder Truck on an army base".....if your refering to McVeigh, yeah he rented the truck from a rental place right out the back gate from FT. Riley. I used to tan right next to the place. So what....Riley was an open post at that time and gas was cheaper on Post. Again what does that prove. That the US Army or DOD or some other government agency was so fucking stupid as to connect the US Army and the truck to a US military installation.
-
Even 3333's hero G. Edward Griffin goes on Alex Jones.
-
argh, i refuse to get sucked back into CT debates lol...
must... not... debate.... hahaha
-
I've seen that stuff before....that doesn't prove anything. How about the brown dudes people saw running just before the bombing. 240..I've see secret squirel shit, they generally don't have secret bases in the middle of OK or allow the secret base to be overflown. They flying over the Delta compound on Bragg...or anywhere on FT Bragg/Cherry Point/Coronado etc etc. This shit is all strung together, somebody says I got it..and goes on AJ and bang...wack job conspiracy. Try driving up to the NSA compound on FT Meade, its easy as hell to get confused by the barriers leaving one of Meade's gates and the collection of NSA buildings, easily visible from the highway. If you end up heading down to their gate, they detain you, call your commander and you get hosed. It happend to several of my classmates when I was there for a school a few years ago. The shit is not like on TV, with super secret bunkers etc. Yeah that shit exists to an extent but we're not planning the next coup there.
-
333386 believes that AJ was very accurate in his coverage of Obama's rise, present, and plans in the white house.

Nope.

Mitt Romney did a lot of interviews with shitbag liberal hosts.

-
i have that obsessive personality thing... last time i got sucked into the 911 conspiracy debate, it took me about 2 years to get out of it lol...
i know none of us will ever know everything that goes on, that's cool, whatever makes us #1 in the world is fine i guess.
but I do believe that because of all the CT stuff - and much of it false but born of govt lies - Ron Paul is making huge leaps and bounds in the polls. Everyone knows we didn't get the full truth on 911, and every candidate except ron paul treats people like unpatriotic idiots for saying "why yall lying about 911?"
So when a guy like RP looks us in the eye and says "well yeah, I respect your opinioin, and a better investigation might be a good thing", well, a LOT of people are turned on by that. I know WTC7 didn't fall from a lack of patriotism, but that's how Newt treats it lol...
-

Do you think that our military shouldn't be cut AT ALL?
Why not? Do you think that a 20-30% reduction in our military spending would actually hurt us?
I'm sure if we brought our troops home and left the rest of the world to fend for themselves that a big cut in spending wouldn't be very noticeable.
-
would there be a power vacuum if we did pull out troops out? what would happen to those bases if China and russia decided to put up joint bases at those exact locations, the minute we pulled out of there?
-
What do you think about this, BB?
Wow.... Mccain went on Alex Jones, huh?
If true, I think they were dumb for doing so. Nobody is going to legitimatize that 911 conspiracy stuff.
-

i learn a lot more from AJ than from madcow, schultz, tingles, and odonnell to be honest.

I don't watch/listen to any of them.

If they want a base in Afghanistan, then they can feel free to put one there.
I don't give a shit.
-

I don't give a shit.
i'm trying not to be a reactionary bandwagon kneepadder. i'm trying to see the POV that "we can't leave those bases".
but it's not there yet. And if congress won't let rpaul do that anyway, what's the worry?
-

People can choose to ally themselves with whoever they want to. If they want to put a base there... go ahead... Let those guys spend all of that money.
Which they won't.
-
The neo cons are a dying breed. That is a very weak attack article, if that is all the Standard can come up with on Ron Paul then they are going to have a tough time ahead. Alex Jones has been proven right on a lot of his claims as well. I would trust an alternative media guy like Jones a lot quicker than anyone in the MSM.
-
I could care less if he was lucky enough to predict anything.
Now that is a joke. Lucky enough? oh boy..
-
I would really love to see RP win a couple of these early primaries
RP vs Willard would be great fun to watch
-
Now that is a joke. Lucky enough? oh boy..
Hey, BillO proved God existed because he can't explain the tides.
For some people, faith trumps fact. Faith in leaders will trump facts to the contrary too.
-
Now that is a joke. Lucky enough? oh boy..
You're a fan of Alex Jones, the 911 CT nut? How shocking. :)
-
lol yes Ron Paul must hate the military and have a horrible foreign policy ....hahaha

This is an echo of Pat Buchanan’s 1990 claim that if the United States went to war against Saddam Hussein it would be on behalf of Israel, and that “kids with names like McAllister, Murphy, Gonzales, and Leroy Brown” would be the ones doing the fighting and dying. The assertion that American soldiers are risking their lives to protect Israel and not the United States
Truer words have not been spoken...
