In the Holiday spirit, I find this video sad.   Instead of being respectful, joyous and having values that should be to reflect on the spirit of the Holidays, be close to friends and family, these people are going out and spending hundreds of dollars that they dont have to get a pair of shoes.

Yes, shoes.

Unreal. If you have the money and cant afford to spend it, that is your choice, but come on now, these are shoes, made overseas, probably for around $20, whose buyer demand because of the name made them way overpriced.

So many other things to get that are way more practical, way more long lasting.

But then again, what is more unemployment benefits and food stamps for.

Very sad.

Mommy got beat up and needs to rest because of a pair of shoes instead of spending time with the family and reflecting on what is important in life.

Family, Friends, Respect, Honor, Working Hard and enjoying time.

Between Dennys, micky Ds and other public places, I dont understand why my people behave in this manner over the most trivial things.

I can only feel blessed that I was born with superior intellect, and reasoning.

These displays of barbarsim sadden me.

Parker please spare your insite that will sympathize with these people. They dont represent the new negro. The new negro examples being myself, Parker, Benny B, Option DD for a double dose of an ass whoopin (jk) Tre, and others. Gentlemen. It is no longer good enough that we do well for ourselves, we must reach out to our brothers and sisters that wish to be helped and teach them what we have been taught amd teach them to teach others.

As long as the anti social acts continue, we will continue to be treated like these people we see which should not define who we are as Black Americans.

Take Benny off of that list please. I am also doubtful if your name should be on that list either. Mal and Parker are ok brothers though. Once when Mal was stealing my hubcaps, Parker drove the getaway car instead of shooting me.

Thank you young man.  My mind is a bit off lately and so please keep in mind that I am not preaching when I say this to you for I have not only the greatest respect for you but it is my hope that your life becomes an example not only to those you know, but one day to the children of the woman you love and who loves you.

Character is easier kept than regained.

Exactly, there were a shitload of white folk doing the "Jordan shuffle"--sneakerheads, sheakerphiles, are like that...not realizing that if they kept their 96 Jordans in good condition, they wouldn't need to bother, plus I think these shoes have been "re-released" before....
This is reason why I never had a pair of Jordans.

in all honesty, no shoe game here. If I like them and are on sale, yea I'll get shoes. I don't own any high end shoes (except one pair of coach shoes). Sadly, shoes these days are all round toe and shit. I prefer the old fashioned stilettos, you know the uber pointy toe ones. But I sure as fuck ain't knocking or shoving to get to any shoes, bags, or anything else for that matter.

Ipads...man, I saw people camping out for those things...and I overheard one guy saying, "Duuude, I didn't even pay my rent so I could sit out here!"
can you believe that! Using your rent money for an ipad? And he probably is short of money for other things...
People have some effed up priorities these days. From the people who think that they deserve every luxury, to those who put more value on a pair of Jordans instead of a criminal record, a job, good grades, and damn common sense (you can get the shoes later on, for less).

You talking about those round toe with thick ass sole? I call em "stripper shoes", because thet look like what you see those 1980s---early 90s strippers wearing.
They are clunky looking and aesthetically unpleasing for a woman's "dainty" feet...they look awkward.
All I know, is I don't go shopping with any woman buying shoes---last time I did it was 3 hours of my life I wanted back.

Even though Air Jordan's is mainly a black thing, skin color is meaningless here.  Pay close attention to how the people are acting in this video.  Also, you need to watch the vids with the Black Friday mob shoppers trampling all over people to buy a $20 item that they don't really need.  When the financial system collapes and the welfare, unemployment and SS checks stop... how will they act then?  :o   Forget about sneakers and imagine the food and water is all gone.

Better have guns and lots of ammo stockpiled (like me).  The roving hoards coming at you will be very hungry.  I'd rather be fighting dead zombies because they couldn't care a less about my food/water storage.

I think I stopped caring about "Jordan" sneakers when I was about 12 years old.

My girlfriend has this BS theory that I am trying to make up for not having Jordan's growing up. My mom wouldn't buy them for me because kids were getting killed for their Jordan's.  :-\

That nostalgic effect can be extremely powerful, there are people in there 70's and 80's who dish out thousands of dollars on stuff to take them back to their childhood.

Actually we were always pretty far behind the 8 ball financially so I basically got lucky by seeing a newer looking pair in a thrift store when I was 11 and I think my last pair of Jordan's was a Christmas present or something a year later. I remember checking to see how much higher I could jump with them as soon as I put them on. haha  :)

Oxford Street stabbing: Teen dies near Bond Street Tube

Emergency vehicles have blocked Oxford Street, close to the scene of the stabbing
An 18-year-old has been stabbed to death on one of London's busiest shopping streets.

The man died outside the Foot Locker sports shop on Oxford Street, near the junction with Stratford Place.

Police said they were called to the scene at about 13:45 GMT. Nine people were arrested and part of the street, near Bond Street Tube, was closed off.

Det Ch Insp Mark Dunne said there appeared to have been two groups of young people "opposing each other".

Mr Dunne, of the Metropolitan Police's homicide command, told journalists there was no suggestion the incident was gang related, but he was "not going to discount it".

He said it appeared a weapon was involved, which "may well have been a knife", but he said he could not yet confirm this.

"A number of weapons have been recovered from that scene, whether I have got the murder weapon I don't know.

"There's an assortment of items but no guns," he said.

He said it was still not clear whether the incident had happened inside or just outside the Foot Locker store.

Police were still trying to work out exactly what had happened, he said.

"This is probably the busiest place in the UK right now, on the busiest shopping day, so it's been difficult for us to piece together what has happened."

He urged witnesses to come forward.

Several shops in the area were forced to shut early because they were inside the police cordon.

An employee at the nearby Disney Store said the company's outlet was "being quite badly affected" and was "unlikely to open again today".

Police also said another stabbing took place on Monday close to the junction of Oxford Street and Regent Street.

They said a man, thought to be in his 20s, was stabbed at 18:20. He had stab wounds in the legs and had been taken to hospital. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

Police said it was "too early to say" whether the two stabbings were connected.

Previous attack
Earlier this year, two teenagers were stabbed in the same area, outside a branch of clothing retailer H&M near Bond Street Tube station.

Both survived the attack, which followed a fight one afternoon in August.

A 22-year-old man, Steven Bigby, was stabbed to death on another section of Oxford Street in May 2008, soon after leaving a McDonald's restaurant.

Another man, aged 19, was convicted of his manslaughter.

When I see Jersey Shore or Growing up Gotti I cringe as well.    I know the feeling.

I notice here on the forums you are sometimes called a racist and it appears to me that it is due primarily to your pointing out criminal activities being perpetrated by black Americans.  Of course I disagree with their premise as I have an IQ above room temperature and was raised by loving parents that didn't give a shit about such notions when bringing me up.

What they did give was their love and guidance.

It is fact that no single race of humans on this planet has a monopoly on being stupid.  It only appears that way because some people (and here I use that term loosely) are too fucking lazy to go beyond blaming everyone but themselves.

Now then, having travelled these United States I can state that while it may well be true that the most confusing day in any urban city of this otherwise great nation is probably "Father's Day", it is equally true that in certain areas of the south (and West Virginia) that is not a problem as they are quite "close knit".  Incest is after all, a family affair.

Don't let the fascist liberals get you down kid.

RON, This may not be in keeping with the subject at hand but you mentioned 'tennis shoes' costing about $20 a pair to manufacture. Believe me! It's far less than that now a days.

While we were stationed in Okinawa the major 'shoe' manufacturers used to come on base with many truck loads of their products and tell each and every one of us to take as many as we wanted. Most of us did so with a three shoe limit because we were limited to one sea bag whenever we were on the move.

We threw a party for these shoe officials as a way of saying, "Thanks!" and they merely said that no thanks were necessary as this was the cheapest way to introduce  their shoe brand into the US market and each pair of shoes cost less than $3 to produce and would be even cheaper to make once the brand became known stateside.

Neeless to say, this was way before the days of highly paid endorsements.

I still have a high ranking shoe making friend and each year I get a good sized crate of shows as a way of saying 'Thanks" many years ago. Family members help themselves and the rest are passed along to any charity org that will pick them up.

I hope we haven't caused any conflicts as the once showned above.

A 19-year-old Houston-area man says he was beaten and a friend was slashed in the face as a group of men robbed him of his new pair of expensive Air Jordan shoes.

Efrain Espinoza says the men first tried to steal his cell phone, followed him from a party Monday to his home near Pearland and then swiped the $180 shoes during a fight.

A 19-year-old woman with him required treatment for a stab wound to her face.

"She was stabbed from the cheek to the chin. They did stitches inside and outside," the victim's cousin Virginia Costilla told KPRC in Houston.

Brazoria County officials say they've arrested a 19-year-old woman but declined to elaborate.

Sale of the limited edition shoes last week sparked a shopping frenzy at stores around the nation.

Local Activists Call for Air Jordan Changes
My Fox Houston ^ | 29 Dec 2011 | SALLY MACDONALD

HOUSTON - Local activists and ministers are taking on one of the world's top sports brands.

They're calling on Nike and Michael Jordan to change the way they sell the highly sought after Air Jordan sneakers.

This comes after the frenzy over the limited release last week turned violent in some cities. Now, community leaders say the people at the top should take some responsibility.

Mob style scuffles nearly turned into riots over the $200 Air Jordans. It's hard to explain the shopping madness that had some customers running to malls.

"I've never seen anybody be killed or jumped over a TV. For some reason it's the shoes," said Maria Hernandez, whose son frequently buys the sneakers.

"These shoes have always had a place of value in Black life," said Malik Ingram.

It bothers Ingram that the shoes bearing his idol's name are associated with violence.

"We all grew up loving him. He makes no statements. It's like he doesn't care," said Ingram.

Outside Greenspoint Mall on Wednesday activist Quanell X and ministers called on Jordan and Nike founder Phil Knight to lower the price of the shoes and meet customer demand.

Excellent point, Ron.

I'd much rather see young men spend their money on supplements, gear, gh, nutrition consultation, and contest prep.  While some say it would be more practical for that money to go towards things like rent, education, building a future, those fools don't realize what this sport has to offer: exposure and a chance to call yourself the best!
