Title: Using an IPad to give a speech
Post by: 240 is Back on December 29, 2011, 12:25:13 PM
Holding and reading from an ipad while giving your opinion on something -

Is it just as bad as a teleprompter?

Not as bad as reading off your palm.

LOL.   The reason the boy wonder has to read off a teleprompter is because when left to his own devices he makes a complete jackass of himself.   That is why his handlers wont let him talk off the cuff.

I ask because bachmann was doing it today.  It was the first time i've ever seen a candidate speak from one.  She looked straight down and read for quite some time.

no more teleprompter votes from MB.  A shame - i really thought she had a chance to win it all :(

My Provost did that this year at Commencement.  "... By the power vested in me by the Board of Trustees I hearby confer upon you the degree of..."  I don't know if people in the audience could see he had an iPad, but I was on stage and everyone on stage could see it.  His comments were so short I couldn't believe he needed notes much less an iPad.  iPads are showing all over campus.  It appears we have too much money in our IT budget.  My boss asked me if i wanted one, i told him no; i already have iPad 1.  He asked me if i wanted iPad 2.  I told him no.  One of my staff asked me if he could have an iPad a few weeks ago.  I asked him to justify it.  He came up with some lame "reasons" so I told him no; he already has a MacBook Pro.  As a compromise we decided to get two iPads for the Office and they will be shared by all as needed for travel, off campus meetings, etc. ::)

Who cares?  Preachers give sermons from iPads.  Speakers give speeches from iPads.  Big deal.

Exactly.  He is horrible without his teleprompter.  But you have to not be an Obama apologist to see that.
