Simply unbelievable. This guy is Obama on steroids. Don't worry kids, Santorum knows what's better for you than you do.

The media has bumped this guy up big time. I find it hard to believe their polls that suggest that so many Ron supporters would leave him for other candidates as it's well known that they wont vote for anyone else but him once they make that decision.

"One of the criticisms I make is to what I refer to as more of a libertarianish right . . . This whole idea of personal autonomy, well I don’t think most conservatives hold that point of view. Some do. They have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do . . . Well, that is not how traditional conservatives view the world . . ." —Rick Santorum

"If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism . . . The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom and this is a pretty general description also of what libertarianism is." —Ronald Reagan

wow, now that is dangerous and scary.

The Regan quote is  total ownage. But Santorum wears a nice little vest so he is the true conservative.

The guy is a communitarian - he wants government to control every aspect of your life. I don't know how anyone could vote for him. Like you said - this man's views are downright dangerous and unAmerican.

Bullshit.

well, 25% of repubs wanted him lol.

And the other 75% can't agree on a conservative - they're splitting their vote between 5 other candidates.

It's like the ugly girl winning prom queen because the 5 hot girls split the vote, and the whole chess team and math club voted for the ugly girl.

The trouble with my uncle, Rick Santorum

If you want another big-government politician who supports the status quo to run our country, you should vote for my uncle, Rick Santorum. America is based on a strong belief in individual liberty. My uncle’s interventionist policies, both domestic and foreign, stem from his irrational fear of freedom not working.

It is not the government’s job to dictate to individuals how they must live. The Constitution was designed to protect individual liberty. My Uncle Rick cannot fathom a society in which people cooperate and work with each other freely. When Republicans were spending so much money under President Bush, my uncle was right there along with them as a senator. The reason we have so much debt is not only because of Democrats, but also because of big-spending Republicans like my Uncle Rick.

It is because of this inability of status quo politicians to recognize the importance of our individual liberties that I have been drawn to Ron Paul. Unlike my uncle, he does not believe that the American people are incapable of forming decisions. He believes that an individual is more powerful than any group (a notion our founding fathers also believed in).

Another important reason I support Ron Paul is his position on foreign policy. He is the only candidate willing to bring our troops home, not only from the Middle East, but from around the world.

Ron Paul seems to be the only candidate trying to win the election for a reason other than simply winning the election.

This year, I’ll vote for an honest change in our government. I’ll vote for real hope. I’ll vote for a real leader. This year, I will vote for Ron Paul.

John Garver is a 19-year-old student at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. John is a strong supporter of Ron Paul despite his love for family member Rick Santorum.

you and I and other people can't imagine voting for him but there are plenty of fundies who crave an authority figure to tell them what to do.  It's part of their psychological makeup

Jerry Falwell knew this when he said: "Christians, like slaves and soldiers, ask no questions"

Religion is slavery.

it certainly can be in certain circumstances but I wouldn't personally characterize all religion as such
